Band Saw?

Just wondering if any of you in the Cagary area have (or have access to) a band saw. I'm a member of the Recreational Aircraft Association (RAA) and at our last meet I somehow got suckered into building a roulette wheel for the club.

I've purchased most of the necessary ingredients but now need to scare up a 4' x 4' x 1" thick sheet of plywood and then cut it into a 4' diameter wheel. (for our purposes this size will suffice). Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Brett.

Oddly enough, I'm a student at the Sait hangar at Calgary International. Our composite lab has one, but before I could arrange use of it during non-class time (ie: when the composite students weren't there; I'm in the AME program rather than structures) I did the job the hard way--- with a dovetail hand saw.

You should try going to the woodwork shop and just ask them. I took Mechanical Engineering there, and I needed a base to my poker table cut, they let me do it after class hours. As long as there is an instructor araound they should let you do it.

Job's already done but thanks. Mechanical engineering eh? There was a guy on the forum (with a yellow RHD TII) who was in that program last year. Wasn't you, was it?

Yeah, he would have graduated last year too. Damned if I can remember his name. He stored it over winter and didn't drive it to school. This way he avoided being ***-raped by SAIT's draconian parking fees.

haha, ******* parking. I parked at Sears until I was hunted down by the parking **** heads. I started parking in the parking lot for the res. When I left it was at 1.50 a half hour. I would pay 1.50 with my visa, fold the bottom of the ticket to hide the time of purchase and park all day for a 1.50... Scammed them for my last half year, never got caught either.

Dishonest, but all is fair in any war, and this is war. So far at the airport campus parking and lockers are free but SAIT is bound to change that policy when the instructors let their guard down. I graduate in three weeks so I wont be there for any of said changes.

Dishonest yes, but I got screwed from SAIT so much, like any other student, especially in the energy department. It was War all through my time at SAIT. I don't miss it at all... except for the Gateway. I miss the Gateway.
