i am redoing the door panel in my FC and i was wondering if anyone has ever seen an automotive fabric that resembles carbon fiber...if so where could i get some?

 

I know you can buy carbon fiber vinyl ... just google it and i'm sure you'll find it.

Why not just buy a pre made sheet of carbon fiber and then cut it to the same template as the MDF board that holds the leather/cloth. Then just match drill the holes and bolt it to the door?

I forgot to mention.

If you're just doing a few panels for looks - something like a lighter #120 weave of carbon will work and probably be less expensive.
You might want to try a hobby model store - they quite often carry lighter weight weaves of fabric.

And one final word of advice - plastic/glass is your friend for a smooth surface finish. Even a layer of heavy duty saran sandwich wrap will work.

Practice with (less expensive) fiberglass first.
