Anyone ever go to these "KC" meets?

Some guy asked me if I ever bring my car to this Kennedy Commons meet. Apparently there are a lot of cars that turn up, from "Hondas to Corvettes" is what he says.
Then he went on to say people usually meet and then race. So I asked him:
"Race where? I don't recall there being a track in that area."
"No, street racing."
"Well I'm not retarded so why would I show up for that."

Seriously? I had no idea people were still street racing for money and "pinks" on the street. With so many track events available for reasonable pricing why would you ever need/want to?

Anyways, off my rant.
Anyone ever go to check out these so-called "done-up whips" that show up? "Usually a few clean Turbo 7's" Maybe we should make this our east meet location and show these posers how we roll.... yo.

i've got two buddies that go there, one with a GLI Jetta and the other a Supercharged Cavalier. That basically explains the entire crowd, mostly "ricey" cars from what i've heard. I have been invited out but don't really have the interest in seeing "done-up" cavaliers and sunflowers lol

No to say there isn't some nice cars there, but the majority is what i stated above.

drag racing at the track is boring enough, doing it on the street is twice as stupid...at least.

I used to go pretty often last summer, then school started again. I've never raced though, I saw no point in it (not to mention it's massively idiotic to street race in the first place), plus I had no chance of winning in a stock 240sx anyways. lol

It's a good place to just chill with your buddies and laugh at all the ricers that think they have nice cars, if you have nothing better to do that is.

^Hm... showing up sarcastically might actually be fun if I had a faster car than a Mazda 2... but I don't... So I wouldn't be able to laugh.

Racing at kc? lol if you mean gunning it out the parking lot onto the 401 then yeah i guess... Last time i went, there was an fd with a ls2 swap, and it said *i dont care how they do it in japan*, thing was a beast. I think hes a forum member but he sold the car tho. If you wanna just do something at around 10 on a wednesday night, then go to kc, we need more rx7's there anyways =P

That would be the PUR auto FD, that thing was straight rediculous. lol
KC should be your "I have nothing else to do but I don't wanna stay home tonight" plan. Sometimes interesting things happen, I recall an R32 pulling up one night, straight from the shop after getting an oil relocation kit done, he hits the 2-step and totally blows the OR kit, sucks for the guy, funny for everyone else. I ended up going all the way across the street to the car just to get my work light so I could help the dude assess the damage.

As for the racing, most of the people set up races at KC then speed off onto the 401 headed to the middle of nowhere and race there.

Hey homie,
you can talk **** about these so called "done up whips" funny part is these people will severely blow your car out of the water when it comes to mods and looking good...lets be realistic your driving a 85-89 rx 7 convertable? if it was tt it would be diff but its not and honestly talk smack about these "done up cars" but any one of these will blow yours out of the water looks wise/ power wise/ handling wise/ and torque wise so you cant really say anything...you should really check these cars out before u start ranting...and posers? really? dude your rollin in a rx 7 convertible...which if u ever tracked it ud know a convertable is the crappiest thing to track cuz its missing the roof and the body has twist on corners which makes it a bitch to track and handles like ****... your car really isnt nice enough to call anyone elses car a poser or any of that crap...and the only reason im on this forum is cuz well i had a rx 7 given to me for free in hs never got on the road though straight to the scrap yard...water jacket seals not worth fixing cuz the age of the car couldnt justify it...but anyways im done my rant...as for CS i'm the one yr ranting about...anyways im prolly not gonna check this board after this unless i get a rx7 tt or an rx8 in the future lates

p.s if u had no idea people were still racing you really are retarted...just sayin

so, ummmm... I claim my car is seriously fast eh "homie"? guess you missed the sarcasm in this thread .. don't even come back when you get your "rx7-tt or rx8." You're not welcome here if you're going to trash talk like that.

Yah that red fd was gregs car, I helped him out with a lot of the stuff on that car. He left pur shortly after, that thing was ridiculously quick though.

KC meets are cool, woodbridge is what I hate.

In the end though, what I hate is all these people who have the time to go out to a KC meet but wont support CSCS, it makes NO sense to me what so ever.

We have sanctioned events run professionally that are way more fun, all these idiots need to do to participate is SHOW UP and SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!

Eff street racing, support cscs!

My buddies been mentioning about kc's for couple of years. Before, I never intended to go. I decided to check it out last season and I was surprise the amount of cars were there, I must have seen at least 10-15 mk4 supras rhd and lhd. We need more rx7 to re-present. You guys need to do the east side meet at KC.

That "Troll" has been here for three years longer then you two.

KC is alright, been a few times. People should try and respect others more. Regardless of what their ride looks like they each share the same passion as the rest of us, just that what they consider cool or a smart mod might not be to everyone's taste.

And yes, our cars being typically 20-30 years old,"different" (rotary), and often unreliable (and stinky), don't necessarily command the most respect or interest at these larger meets. But that being said, there are good people at any meet and they'll return the same respect that you offer them for their ride.

exactly.

I mean, i will chuckle at every sunflower and pimped cavalier, but not to their face, unless they talk smack about my ride. I respect âny hard work put into a ride, weather it was what I would of done, or not. I live close to a town that is littered with sunfires and civics and cavaliers with fart cans and rims, they all think they are hot ****. I let them think what they want. Most of the people that own them will complement me on my ride, and usually want to know anything i can tell them about it (Even though none of them really understand).

Dont get me wrong, there are ******** everywhere in this world, just because they have done up a sunfire or whatever, doesnt make them an *******.

And street racing?? Man people are still that dumb even with the new laws ontario implemented??...
