Alternator rebuilder near Guelph?

It looks like the voltage regulator has gone on my alt as it won't charge unless its revved over 1200 RPM, draining the battery when sitting at idle (Voltmeter shows "L" output of 9.5V at 750 RPM). It's spiking over 16V if I go past 3000 RPM while the car is cold, but once warm and I turn on the e-fan/stereo/fans, it stays around 14V.

This is one of Tony's FD alts on a 88 FC and still looks brand new, so I would like to rebuild it if possible unless someone knows of a place to buy a warrantied replacement for not too much. Is there a good rebuilder in the Guelph/KW area?

I had the same(literally) predicament,
I asked a local alternator place to rebuild it and they quoted me close to 300.!!
I got a used alternator sent from the states for 80 bucks!
...
If you want MORE power look up these: http://powerbastards.com/proddetail....od=Fitzall-220
cheaper than what they got on forum for the HI output FD alternators.
OH..check with me in a week,I may have an FD alt for ya.

KSA-Kitchener starter/alternator.... They are fairly reasonable, honest and easy to deal with. Unlike some other alternator rebuilders in this area. This is from a one time experience but if I had to rebuild another I'd go back there.

Petersen's Auto Electric in Waterloo - just off Northfield 519 888 6630 - does a great job. They'll also build it stronger than OEM if you request it. I've had great success with them.
