2 psi on my FD ugh. Mazdees/Magnus??

Well I popped the motor on my FD lol. Guess there's a chance it's a blown turbo? I dunno some symptoms of blown apex seal don't seem to be there--ie hot starts and idle are ok, vacuum seems ok. Boost is gone though, faack. Last rebuild was in a place in Detroit which I will not be revisiting. I had some dyno-tuning done once at Magnus and I liked the guys there, but I've since been made aware of Mazdee's too. Kinda like the idea that all they do there is 7's/8's. Input?? If/when I need rebuild I may as well make it fun, do some fuel delivery upgrades and maybe go to 14 psi. I have full exhaust, intake, PFC. My best dyno had been 303 whp at 10 psi. Now it's like an NA car LOL Why am I laughing?????

If it idles fine, its just something with the sequential system or the turbo's themselves. Not the engine. Take it to Mazdee's they'll fix it for you. I could fix it but time is my enemy this year lol.

That sucks man! Hopefully it isn't the motor, but regardless I would recommend Mazdees. They know what they're doing.

Good luck!

Sorry I should have mentioned it's non-sequential setup.

Could still be the turbo's or a giant boost leak. If idle/vacuum is normal, its not the engine so don't worry. Since its non-sequential, the problem will be a lot simpler to find.

Check to see if you have any loose couplers or a ripped ones. Check the ones that come off the intercooler, those are a common failure point.

I am going to go with Boost leak first ....

Check your vacuum block next to the alternator and see if it's connected?

Sounds like it could be a boost leak.

FD's have a MAP after the throttle body, so any leaks before the TB will not effect idle or normal driving. But obviously, it won't make boost.

My car came with the two lower nuts missing between the throttlebody and the upper intake manifold, no boost. Two nuts later and I was boosting like a mad man

Do you hear any whistling? I believe that the stock turbo wastegate spring is 5psi so if you're boosting lower than that, it's either a boost leak or your turbo's are done.

A vacuum line won't make that much of a difference to boost. It will have to be something big like the intercooler pipe connections. It could also be the blow off valve. That looses off sometimes too.

I'm not an Fd guy but the pipe on the secondary turbo seems to be a big compliant of a lot of guys losing power.

When it heads into slight boost there's like a spurting sound. Dead turbos? I'll check intercooler pipes and BOV more closely tonight

Hey BBQ sounds great lol. I'm in London BTW

I'm just curious since I mentioned I wasn't an FD guy but read about that problem.
Was that indeed the problem, what I mentioned,in that place?
