1992 fd has arrived

so it is finally in my garage and awaiting to be registered and insured. It is a 1992 FD3S, 3.5 auction grade, 46 140kms. and is stock besides a muffler. Just some info for all of you curious for doing the same. The Fd was legal in april and did not leave japan until may 3. This wasnt to bad becuase i got lucky and it went on RORO. You can save alot of money on shipping if you go through RORO but have to be paitient. after the car got to vancouver it took 2 weeks to go through customs and then another 1.5 weeks to go to calgary. I then took the extra step and got it shipped to medicine hat which only took 3 buisness days. So just to get the car will take you around a good month/month 1/2. Now for price. i gave my first downpayment for 6000, then once i recieved the car i payed the 2 downpayment for 4600. that included shipping from japan to medicine hat. Customs and taxes. and any paper work that needed to be done. I then had to get a out-of-province inspection done for $100 and a apraisal for $75. so far the final cost is $10775. the car still needs 4 new tires, siginal light bulb, rim bent back, and the cancel on the turning siginal fixed. So not everything is perfect when you get your car. mechanic inspection hasnt been done yet, so i will update later. Hopefully this helps you get an idea of what to excpect if you do try importing from japan, and throw your questions out and ill get back. pics will be on later tonight.

Well if that motor takes you to 90 or 100 k, that's not too shabby.

Congrads man. thats a sick car. I am glad to see how many people here are supportive of your car. I just imported the same 92fd only black. And in ontario importing a car damn near makes you public enemy. I have a few very supportive people in the area and a good chunk of people hatting on my poor baby.
