A man can't be expected to travel with a crusty interior and no sound. So now I expect you to travel.

So if everyone is planning on leaving from Toronto at 10am, you expect to make it to Ottawa in 4 hrs?
I don't travel to Ottawa very often so....it just seems like not enough time.

If everyones planning on driving at 140+ just to make it there in 4 hrs, then count me out....I like my licence, and it's hanging on by a thread.

Oshawa to Ottawa at around 120 km/h the whole way, is 3.5 hours taking the 401. So, if Toronto to Oshawa is about 30 minutes, that would make sense....

You are pretty safe doing 120 on the 401.

Don't worry Joe 4 hours is plenty of time with no chance of a ticket.

Those maps they show suck.

You'll be crossing between Gananoque and Mallorytown. If all goes according to sched, we'll be passing through there around 1pm. Think you can arrive there at about that time? If you get there early, you could just take the 401 up to Mallorytown, exit and sit tight until we get there. Grab a coffee or something.

PM me your cell # and I can call you when we get near. Give you 5-10 minutes warning. We can pull off, say hi, make sure you have an FRS and then hit the road.

Does anyone have any trunk/hatch space for the ride up. I need to deliver a bumper to someone at the meet. The bumper is brand new so very clean, your help would be very appreciated.

Lates,
Alright, I can do the 401 for a bit if you want.
Is there anyone we are supposed to pick up near Belleville (one of the Rx-8 guys?) Either way, we can meet Leigh on Hwy7 if he's going as I forgot to ask him on Sat. night (hmmm I wonder why I forgot) LOL!

It's starting to look like there will be two convoys, splitting up after the Fairview Mall.

If there are people along the 401, east of Toronto, who want to join up, you'd better speak up soon...

Well, the map does show we'll make better time taking the alternate route after we hit Belleville... So we're going to be on the 401 for the majority of the time...
The only thing that's going to slow us down is the 1 lane roads those alternate routes are famous for...

So don't worry too much Amur... we can take a last minute poll with people once we reach that marker.... I'm just saying the map does say this is the quickest route to Corel Center....

For some reason the forum won't allow me to modify my first post regarding the meet point.

I forgot to point out that we'll be located on the North side of the mall around the Sport Check (or sports world, whatever it's called...)

4 days and counting!!

Oh God, please take Highway 7 to the Corel Centre! Taking the 401 is just so much extra useless driving...

I wouldn't mind taking hwy 7. Every year we take the 401. Let's switch it up. Also we need to remember it's the long weekend so they will both have a lot of cops. So we might want to be reasonable. (Like I'm one to talk)

Take all the polls you want - I'm not leaving the expressway for crappy, two lane roads, stop lights and slow drivers. Not to mention killing my fuel economy (that honour is reserved for Sunday.)

I can't remember if there's a check in time for the hotel... I don't think it matters if I've already reserved a room... It would makes sense for the people who booked at Econolodge to drop things off when we're heading over to Will's place...

Taking the alternate route can't be too slow... I doubt we'll run into any problems...

The cops are already ALL OVER THE PLACE... At least, for the first time ever, I saw a cabbie pulled over yesterday...

It's okay, you don't have to freshen up for me, just take the shorter route already

I'll be leaving peterborough about 9:00-10:00am on saturday and heading up hwy 7. I'll either be in a Protege or Mazda 3, so not much racing for me. I don't have the tires on my bike yet, so it's out.

if anyone has a spare video camera I can borrow, I will be one of a few camera guys during the sunday cruise. I have a digital camera, but the video camera I was hoping to use is already bolted into an Rx8 . I hope it works well scott.

I am hoping to ride passenger in a few different cars during the cruise so as to get a variety of video. let me know if you're willing to have me ride with you. I won't put my feet on the dash like Jamie did!!

I think we'll be able to stop at Belleville to pick up Danielson and some fuel before heading up the alternate route... I think that's the last stop for Sunoco as well...

We'll play it by ear...
