Uk FC track toy.
Hey guys.
I've recently acquired an rx7, i used to have a Honda Shuttle or Wagon depending where your from that converted into a rwd drift car which looked like this.

A combination of me not being happy with the way it looked, the ride comfort and the welded diff being massively impractical meant i put it up for sale.
10 minutes later i get a call from my friend telling me how he has just bought an fc rx7 and he hates driving it so i asked him if he wanted to swap and the rest is history.
So i now own this beautiful machine

first job i did was get rid of the old manky apexi filter

I've measured up and put a HKS filter on order as i think it will fit in the space a lot better and then next job is to build some sort of airbox for it.
So the plans with the car originally were to drift it but after driving it a bit i've fallen in love with it and decided if i drift it, it will get banged up and probably crashed at some point so i've decided against it and i'm going to buy a BMW for that because i don't really like them and there's plenty around for next to nothing so it doesn't matter if i crash it.
So the RX7 is going to become my new track car which will replace my civic which unfortunately suffered massive engine failure at the Nurburgring
Plans for it for now are the get a major service sorted, get the bodywork tidied up a little, coilovers, wheels and good tyres and then see where it goes from there.
I'm looking forward to getting started on it

Finally sorted out insurance for the car on Friday and took it out on its first proper drive and i loved it, not felt that at home in a car in a long time and at that point i knew it was going to be staying with me for a while so i made a little bit of a start over the weekend.
I started with trying to figure out why my belts weren't tight even though they were fully adjusted.
Turned out it just had the wrong belts on it, so i went and got a new set from my local autofactors

All fitted, the engine temperature seems to sit a lot lower now as well which is great.
After that i decided my wiper arms were looking a bit tired

So i gave them a quick spray along with a few of the brackets from the engine bay.

They're looking much better now so i'm gonna do a few more bits under the engine bay.
After i took the rear wiper off i decided it looked much better without so i continued to remove the motor to save a little bit of weight.

I just need to find a bung that fits it now.
Then a slightly more exciting update, my company Heavyset are working on a new steering wheel design and we had a prototype to test fit so i was the first to volunteer.

Really happy with it, its not the final design, there will be a few bits added to the final one.
I've ordered a set of wheels and got some coilovers through work today and then i took a trip to my local auto store to get some gunk to make a start on cleaning up the engine bay and some polish and wax to tidy it up for the weekend as its going out on its first big outing to the JDM North meet in Preston not far from where i live.
I'll be sure to post up pictures.

So the other day i took the fc out for a trip down to the JDM north meet in Preston.
I checked the water to see if it needed topping up and realised it was just full of rusty water.
It looked like this when i drained it

So i topped it back up with anti freeze and water to stop it corroding so badly

Then it was off to the meet, unfortunately i forgot to take any pics of the car when i got there but i got this one of it from when we met a few people to drive down with.

Anyway here's our companies coverage of the event. Enjoy
