That would be a bit to much to post. I think I would be a full page further if I post them al, or maby 2

Have a look at this album, the page i've selected has the first pic's on about that rust problem i had :P

winter '11 - '12

It never became perfect, but way way better and more important, good enough for me.

O yea, not forgetting the fact that I did all this in a freakin party tent in the back yard

Couple of pictures shot since my last update.

Not much going on at the moment. Ordered racing beat sway bars, and I am about to order the first few things for my new cooling setup that will be build this winter.

It will be sweet!

Anyway, here some pic's.

NOM NOM NOM, that last picture is amazeballs. What was your wheel/tire setup again? Fits perfect, 30mm fronts, stock rear quarter panel?

Fenders are still stock! They will be changed for wide fenders front and rear with wider wheels.

Current wheels are 17", 7.5J front, 8.5 rear. Not sure, but I think ET 35 front and ET 30 rear.

Falken azenis 255 somthing rear, and 215 or 225 something at the front.

Because of the 2 degrees camber at the front wheels, I used 20mm spacers to fill the gap that was created. Hope they won't hit the fenders while cornering at high speed.

I couldn't answer you right away, and I still cannot give you a good answer because there are the first semi's on this car. In combination with the little track time I have so far with this car I can't say they are good or bad.

They are way better then street tires, that's obvious, and they say these tires are a bit slower then toyo's but last longer but I can't tell that from own experience.

I've been to the nordschleife last weekend and the car felt better then the last time I drove it on Zandvoort but I still think that the amount of grip can be improved. Whether it's the tires limitation or car adjustment, not sure. Next year when the car is properly tuned I will try to get more track time and find out.

After waiting for a long time, i was finaly able to pick up my new hood from shineauto.

Now we can start stripping and building a custom V-mount setup

Not sure yet if I will paint it or not.

Also working on the LIM, grinding out coolant and exhaust gas channels and EGR flange.

Thanks both!

Removed big chunks with an angle grinder, 1mm cutting disc. Because it is cast aluminum it's easy to crack pieces of aluminum when you can't reach the last bit with the grinder.

Then changed to a thick grindig disc to roughly grind the bigest pieces off.

where I can't reach with both, I use a dremel. I can also use this to make those area's smooth. Also got a flap disc for the surface to use and might need to sand a bit by hand to finnish it off.

But i'm not that far yet.

I tried using something like a dremel at first and it was horrible. The grinder is really the way to go. it goes from a 8 hour job to 2-4 depending on if you want it polished, or just "cleaned up"

slowely but surely a bit of progress.

Removed intercooler and uim.
Removed radiator
Removed oil cooler
Also decided to remove the power steering unit. Because moar space.

And like you guys know, this is what's left

Remounted the front splitter and started playing around with the koyo rad that came out. Suprisingly it ended up pretty well with just a few moves and I think I'll keep it how it is. (don't mention the fittings etc on the radiator)

Next step was the intercooler. Did some rough measurements and made a "dummy" intercooler core out of cardboard. I do have an idea about how it will be made, but not sure yet about the size. Depends a bit on what I can fit with what I have in mind and what will work with the hood.

Pretty soon I noticed that some pieces of metal are in the way. Already removed the lower tube, but will need to remove a bit more including the bit at the top so I can play a bit more with the intercooler. And this will also be my next step.

intercooler core? Check!

Tig welder? Check!

Aluminium? Check!

Then we should be able to start on this. Had a last minute change of plans so to make good progress right away. I need to order a small piece of aluminium and some tubing for the radiator and intercooler. Then we should be able to do some things here.
