Still gonna do a twin turbo but let's get this one running first!

Well I bought another car. This beauty is a 88 NA gxl. Has emissions and sub zero removed and 5/6 ports uncontrolled. Has been rebuilt but time of rebuild is unknown to me. Bought for 1500$, guy was asking 2k$ but due to it not wanting to start I talked him down.

Well it won't start. Me and a friend from the forum (import fanatic) have been diagnosing the car as of late.

It's receiving no spark. Have changed relays, the two on the drivers side fender near firewall and secondary ignition. Main relay in hatch. Now it sounds stronger. Tested the coil, that's ok, looked at the ecu. Solder points are good. But the ecu is not sending a firing signal to the prim coil, so I am currently looking for a replacement ecu to eliminate more possibilities

I still plan on building my twin turbo setup and blowing it up most likely, but now I have a s5 motor I can rebuild possibly to support it. The s5 has become a parts car now due to the body of this car being better. Will post pics when I'm not using my iPhone. The car is currently primed with no front or rear bumpers. They got destroyed from previous owner. Side skirts are molded in (kinda scary) and the underside of the good is painted the falken tire drift green, and I'm in love with it! Once this car runs! And I swap the interior for the s5 black one and get rid of the burgundy one which btw is for sale if people need parts! It's going for paint ASAP!

I just want a rx7 to drive in the summer this year and hopefully will have all my parts together for my TT build next fall/winter!

Wow no replies. Haha well I've been making good progress, almost got the burgundy interior out, black sunroof liner and liner are in, created a false floor to level of with the rear seat delete. Going to take te stock slides off the seats and then fix tem to my race seats. Car still doesn't run but I'm going to pull the harness and give it to my friend so he can look it over for any breaks because that's what we come to the conclusion of, if its not that then I don't know.

I've got my temp rims in for powder coating and got some neo chrome lugs nuts. Rims are gonna be white so they should look pretty damn awesome!

I'm awaiting one of my posts to be approved but I'm looking for a complete momo steering wheel, I like the oem looking one or the infini.

Also more importantly I'm looking for the exterior belt line molding. And also a s4 front bumper lip!

Thanks guys.

Cas is ok because I've read that they rarely fail, and mine seems to work, the ecu was grounded till I pulled it, swapping it for a t2 one just to see if it would give us spark. And all other elements work like fuel pump, dash lights turn signals, headlights so yes it's getting power. Since then I haven't regrounded it because I've been busy on other parts of the car

Pulled te secondary harness and gave it to import fanatic to do some continuity checks and breaks once I get that one back and installed ill pull the primary harness.

Today I've been building new home for 2 new batteries. No they are not going in the rear bins, that's gonna be my amp racks, I am installing 2 batteries in the place of the rear spare tire.

Using longer bolts at the tow hooks and some 1x2x26 tubing and cutting some notches I have created a platform. And then some 3/4 in plywood overtop which will be carpeted soon and then some Kenetic battery sleeves for I believe the 1400's which I'm gonna pik up this week and start rewiring for the amps, main fuse block and starter

Picks to come later when I'm back at home

The start of my battery box

Just need another box and to carpet it.

The color on the underside of my hood. I have fallen inlove with it! So I'm gonna paint the car this color. The camera doesn't do it justice. So nice it's like the falken tire racing green.

My amp rack

Just need to carpet it now as well!

Test fit

My false floor is in as well but have no pictures of it.

And got all the wires in for the stereo and battery relocate. Hoping to get my secondary harness back soon and my seat bracket. Going to get my rails powder coated because there is some rust on them. That or I'm in need of new rails.

Ordered a new floor carpet.
Tires got put on the white powder coated rims. Pics to come tomorrow. Hopefully finishing the false floor this week and sub box and drivers seat, dash, interior and secondary harness got quite the list for this week. So hopefully quite a bit of progress to come this week! Pics to follow.

Also waiting on some replies but I'm going to buy a s5 t2 lim and a fd uim for my turbo build for next winter, and some trim pieces for the interior!

I'm very excited!

Well if you love how the wheels came out, heres them on the car, and i just need more carpet for the false floor and then the box.

Had the box designed by my friend who is a math wiz so its tuned to 46htz for my hertz ES300 subs.

Ya it's pretty nice!

After starring at the car for some long period of time, I was gonna order spacers but then decided i need to just jump straight to coilovers. So next paycheck ill be ordering KSport version RR or higher.

Also decided once I get my friends 240sx out of the shop ill put my s5 at the door ad tinker on that. Even though it was a parts car I'm going to leave it as a shell and make a super wide body track car! Engine! 1jz or at least that's the current idea! I hate to see it sit there! So ill have a set of s5 tails and interior pieces for sale.

Also with having the 240 out ill have more room to work and things should be faster, so hopefully that's this weekend!

thanks man! Hey looking at your Facebook page, where did you get all the carbon bits, like door sills, door handles, door handle sleeves. I've got some coming from circuit theory, just the vents and lower piece near e brake.

Thanks man! They are just core racing rims, the coolest core racing rims ever! But they had to look good for the 1-3 years ill be rocking them!

Here's the sub box in the car! It's absolutely HUGE! Didn't think I'd be that big! Also the false floor is 2 inch higher than the normal floor but now I'm thinking next year I might just do dual 10's or dual 11" focals, we will see. But the subs do sound amazing! Even jut off the 4ch! Getting the mono here soon! But I'm still breaking them in.

Was working on the carpet to cover the new batteries, and just waiting for more carpet to do the box.

Hope you all enjoy!

Finally got my new carpet on Thursday, going to be installing it this week hopefully. Going back to work finally after 6 weeks of school for my 3rd year of carpentry! HELLO raise! so things should be moving along fast!

My friend bought 2 skylines off another friend for 5000$ and he doesnt want one of the rb20's so we traded my 20" rims for his one rb20 with a gt30 turbo, cams, FMIC, Blitz gauges and Hertz MLK speakers.

He wants to drop a rb25 in the one so he didnt need the engine and i wanted it for my track car, so that i can build the s5 rotary and twin turbo that and drive the s4 as na this summer.

So now i need to find more parts and pull the s5 out of the snow so i can pull the motor.

On the topic of the S4 the interior should be black and completed this week so updates to come as they happen!

Enjoy!

Almost got it running.Import Fanatic went through a ~13 page thread to come up with a test for me to do using a volt meter and tps. Guess what it was the mac shorting. which then caused no spark. but now we have come to another conclusion that its over fuelling, so todays goal is to swap the s5 rail, regulator, bac onto the s4 and follow all the vacuum lines to verify everything is in its proper place. hopefully it will run.

it was throwing 3 foot flames! reving and then dying. but then nothing at all, spark plugs were saturated in fuel.

Also im looking for a 88 s4 NA Maf, and a gauge surround, empty no dials or anything i got 3 sets of everything but mine is ugly and the turn signal switch isnt interchangeable with the other surrounds i have which i thought was weird.

mine has the little flips on either side and one with the blank plate for cruise would be awesome!!!!

thanks guys

havnt made much progress because i still cant get the darn thing to start!

My car has an extensive amount of deletes done to it, so this is really starting to bother me!

i want it running!!!!

I really have no idea as to why it not starting! Im ready to do a complete engine harness swap, new ecu, new maf, just to eliminate possibilities. if anyone has any ideas please let me know!

it now doesnt start and rev at all, no more flames, just cranking!

Import Fanatic has allowed me to drive his 87 tii and advertise it for sale for him. its nice but im attached to my s4 too much, i could buy his but i dont think i am.

Quick Reply: Still gonna do a twin turbo but let's get this one running first!
