S5 Turbo II Street/Drift Build
Hello everyone! Recently purchased my first RX7, a 1990 Turbo II. I love the car so far, but it needs a good amount of work to get it back to the level I want it to be. I'm very ready to get the car back into proper condition. Some of the main things off the bat it needs desperately are paint, suspension work, and mild motor work. But all those things will be taken care of soon so no big deal! My last drift build was also a Mazda. I had a 1993 Miata with a 99 1.8 BP swap with forged internals, 11:1 compression, full suspension, and lots of exterior modifications too. It was a super fun car with low power, and super reliable. Someday I will own another one for sure!
I have always looked at the Second Generation RX7 with a lot of envy. I have always loved 80s and 90s style of sharp edges and the FC is pretty much the first thing I think of when I hear Japanese automotive styling. I have also always had a huge fascination with rotary powered vehicles. Nothing has quite the same sound as a rotary and the outside the box design. In drifting having your own style is key. They say your car is a direct representation of who you are as a person. Driving hard is just as important as having a good looking car in my opinion. My goals with my FC is to really capture the essence of drifting style and driving and of course with my own twist on it! I will do my best to post updates often of new parts coming in! Thank you all for tuning in and I promise this is going to get interesting quickly with summer approaching.

Here are some pics of the car in its current condition. Lots of small classic details that I like. Option Video Japan came to the States in 1996 and used this exact car as a demo car and drift instruction car. Knowing they once owned this car is seriously something special.
A small hint of what was once done to the motor and what they smoked,
Original Option 2 decals from when they owned it.
Not much to look at now, but soon I hope it will be better.
Super Advans are one of my favorite wheels ever!
Soon I will post the parts I've had come in so far! Cant wait for a little bit warmer weather to really crack down on repairs and making the car better.

Yes it does! Currently has a draw from the boost controller being wired straight to the battery for whatever reason... Also has vaccum kewl and I need to do the EGR delete but yes it runs. Hopefully much better soon haha.

Trust me when I've said I've looked everywhere for anything related to this car being with option. Been trying to track down the Option Magazine cover it was on. Haven't found a thing sadly I'll keep looking.

It was 40 degrees today in Chicago so I was able to work on the car without freezing to death finally! One of the previous owners of the car was really into audio so my goal today was to remove all the old amps, controllers, head unit, and totally unnecessary amount of audio cables. Took way longer than I anticipated because of the sheer amount of audio wires. Honestly removed probably a miles worth of the stuff. Also taking out the old heavy amps cut some pounds down. Probably shed 20 pounds total off the weight. Productive day and the interior looks much better.

Considering this is my first time owning a 5x114 and always loving Japanese wheel designs, I had to purchase some wheels for the car! First wheels I got we're Work Eurolines. Probably not going to run these much due to the sheer weight of the wheels, but they were for sale for a steal of a price from the motherland.
The mint condition Eurolines with polished lips and metallic silver faces.
Now the car came with super advans which I was super happy about because they are one of my favorite wheel designs in history I need to clean them up and might get them redone can't decide yet. But point being I've always loved advan wheels so I knew I wanted to get as many I could for the car. My friend was selling a pair of AVS Model 5's, one of my favorite classic wheel designs ever, and I knew I had to have them. I also picked up some Garage Moon Power Red Checkered Floor Mats too.
My Model 5's and my Floor Mats. Also my cat Snickers. He likes to hang out on top of car parts so more of him is sure to come.

Some small updates today. My aero came in which is awesome. Currently deciding what color I want for the entire car. Paint won't be until spring though. I bought BN Type II rep aero. I really wanted Origin or Sexy Style but I got this aero for a very very good price. I can always change up the aero later on too.
Snickers the Cat seal of approval.
I also put my Model 5's on the car. Really love how they look on the FC. I need to order new coils soon. I'm going with Stance 8k 6k with an inch shorter spring. Hopefully be able to do the full exhaust before I lower the car more. Planning on 3 inch straight pipe to downturn muffler. We will see though.

Hey guys been busy with searching for a new job so not a whole lot of updates currently. I did get an NRG quick release and this Nardi Personal Red Suede wheel 330mm. Always loved how suede looks and feels. Very happy with this purchase. Probably going to keep my Momo Corse leather 350mm wheel as a backup too. Started my new job last Thursday so more parts will be coming soon!
