Nate, There is pin holes in every body filler, you have to make the pin holes come out. most people don't see them or even care if they do see them. Take a blow gun put it right up to the bondo and rub over it with your hand, following the air gun with your hand. You will probably see some pin holes. mix up some thicker primer than normal used, take a squeegy and lay it on. Thats just one trick to a smooth finish.(Doing this is obviusly after its all sanded down ect). You repainting the whole car?

Negative, the rest of the car has newer paint that looks good still. Just doing that spot for now, as I said before it will be getting over fenders soon, but I am not driving around in a car with a dent in the side until then.

I'm usually pretty **** about doing things perfect, but I plan on tracking this car a lot in the future, and it will get a bit beat up here and there, so I'm not putting too much work into the body. I want it to look nice, but doesn't need to be perfect.

Now my other FC will be built to perfection lol, but I'll probably never drive that at all when its finished.

Long term I want one FC that is fully restored and very nice, and a second FC for a full time track car. Its going to take a few years lol.

Just got home, and my box from J-pan was waiting for me. I get so giddy when I get new parts lol. I love RHDjapan!

What I haz....
-Bee*R rev limiter/launch control
-Super Now oil cap
-R-Magic shift ****
-R-Magic sticker(now I have to run my R-Magic wing sitting in the shed lol)

All is brand new and of coarse authentic, they even threw in a sweet oil change sticker in Japanese.

Engine bay prepped and painted this weekend. Got the idea from boosted414 to paint it a pearlescent color, and I couldn't be happier. Came out very nice, depending on how the light hits it the color shifts from a green/black/dark purple.

Going to do a partial wire tuck/re route. I want the engine bay in this car looking perfect

Pic after I started re-assembling everything back in.

Got me a S5 shift lever for the more common thread pattern, and put on the R-Magic shift ****.

Pic of the adjustable lowering springs, yeah I'd love to have coilovers, but those are out of the budget right now.

^Thanks again Jesse.

Bought the OEM J-spec Savanna RX-7 badge. Am trying to find the S4 J-spec "Rotary Turbo" decal that comes OEM on the right taillight, if anyone knows a vendor that sells them, let me know

Not going to sticker this car up like the vert was, only non OEM exterior sticker will be a rx7club decal.

My three weeks off of school start tomorrow, so should be making some good progress now.

NP man.

Corksport huh? I just order my oil cooler lines from them today.

Also, there's a thread around here where I believe somebody was making those rotary turbo stickers. Let me look around.

EDIT: Can't find it. Maybe polakgraphics can reproduce them? I'm sure others would buy them. He's a member here too I believe.

^I can get a local shop here in Chi that could make them too, but it'd be easier to find them already made. I'll try searching around more.

Bought them off a member on here, idk where to get them new, I'm sure someone on ebay has similar springs.

Put on my R-Magic spoiler, just need to paint it yet. Picked up new door panels. Finished doing a partial tuck on the front body harness and hooked it back up. Spent more time working on the dent too.

Hopefully the motor will be in shortly.

Had my wisdom teeth pulled on monday, so have been a bit out of it from the medication and recovering.(think it hurt my wallet more than me though.) Did a little work on this today. Was planning on repainted the underside of the hood, but I cleaned it up real good and just put a coat of clear on it and it came out nice. Was able to clean up and keep the OEM decals on the hood too which I really wanted to do too. And I polished more bolts. Also sanded and painted the wiper motor and wiper arms.

Today got the short block pulled out of the other FC, and brought it up to the garage. It has not ran for a year and a half, but I kept cranking oil through it every month or so.

But inspected it real good, from what I can see through the exhaust ports it looks real good inside, has 6 good pulses of compression too. Took off the Greddy T4 manifold that was on it and put on the stock s4 mani and the BNR turbo.

Still need to do some more research on whether or not I'll run the twin scroll system.

Looking good nate. Keep it up! I don't think I'll ever be motived enough to make a build thread. But kudos to you! Maybe I might make one for the peripheral port I'm doing.

Lets keep this thread on track.

Polished the fuel rail, and painted up more things that needed it. Got some new bolts too. Fuel system is in, turbo lines are hooked up(except for the return line, the front cover is different for the return line I have). Just need to put the clutch on and it will be ready to drop in the car.

Swapped out the engine harnesses. The old one was very hacked up and there was a complete mess of wires that were spliced into it.

new one on left.

Probably because you're a huge bitch.

Anyway, I have to agree Nate. You're making great progress, I envy how much time you have to work on the car. You always pay good attention to detail , cleaning things up, gettting new bolts and trying to turn whatever isn't supposed to be modified back to stock.

What clutch are you going to run?
