meanwhile i bought a new PD and FPR, the old ones were, well old, and the gas smelled horrible, i decided better safe than sorry. unusually i did some shopping, and didn't buy these from Mazda, but on sale at Pep Boyz, took forever to get
i'm sparing everyone pics of the new parts i put in this thing, i took pics of most of them. Ye Olde PD is the bottom pic

these look to be nearly before the upper intake goes on... or maybe after i had tried it on once? compared to the FD there is nothing in there, but its also a tight fit...
the double clamps on the fuel line is intentional, the FD fuel recall had them do it, and it seems like a good idea. i'm sure there will be more pics, but the fuel in this thing smelled bad (everything about this car smelled bad), and i replaced the damper, FPR, filters and pump, but i wanted to run some fuel through it before i cleaned the injectors, too many unknowns, and i didn't want to clog up a new/clean injector with some F.O.D. and if it happened to the old ones it would be fine, so i made sure the injectors clicked, and put em in

More connector repair, i'm not sure why these connectors were so bad, its either from the sun; the car sat with the hood off for years, or rat pee

Then i pulled apart the drivers door, someone had pulled tint off of the side windows, which left the glue, and then the regulator was bad anyways. inside the door i found some evidence of a prior repair, it looks ok on the outside, but my 100% original paint car is turning out to be like 50%....

and for a change of pace i pulled the tail lights out and cleaned in there, and probably waxed underneath them, and cleaned out under the fuel filler.

pulled the fuel pump, the car sat from 2005 with no gas cap on it, so gas smelled bad, like death. old pump didn't run, obvs. i had a good used one i threw in, no pic, looked like a fuel pump?

so the gas smelled crappy, and i had a running fuel pump with new filters. i should have drained the tank, but the tank had an extra drain plug in it, and i had no place to drain the old stuff. so i pushed the thing out and tried to start it, and it fired right up... the video is not an accepted file type, but its like a vacuum cleaner thats on fire...
