Put S5 turbo hood and tail lights on a 1986 S4?
Hi, guys, I am planning to put a S5 turbo hood and s5 tail lights on my NA s4 GXL. Does anyone knows will both parts fit exactly? Or mods are needed? Thanks.

Thanks for your kind reply. I want to modify my car to the Initial D one and that's why I want to change the hood and tail light. For the s5 tails, which part of metal will I need to cut? Metals on the light frame? I hope not the car body...

well sorry, i don't like your initial D reference...
you'll see what you need to cut when the S4 tails are off, and you are trying to mount the S5 tails. It's not a big deal. Just a little metal trimming on the inside (towards the middle of the car). When all is said and done, it's not visible. Do you searching...

You DO NOT need to cut anything on the rear. I just did the tails on my 87 s4. A pair of large pliers and some bending is all that's needed. where it gets tricky is the license plate plastic cover thing. I was delicate with my dremel and cut/sanded it to fit.

I replaced my S4 GXL with S5 tails and the cutting isn't anything to be afraid of. Although it is prolly easier then bending it to shape to accommodate the space. It's just 2 small 2" cuts per side then fold back the flap and you're done. Just remove your S4 lights and slide the S5's in and the reverse light housing will hit the body mark with a sharpie and make the cuts. The license plate is the pain. If you had a dremel it would make life a lot easier. Just a little to trim along the top edges.
