the bad thing about having a really tight fitting cage is that it doesnt photograph really that well.

stevensimon Nov 21, 2011 06:03 PM

nice 22

stevensimon Nov 22, 2011 12:12 PM

what 22?

stevensimon Nov 23, 2011 10:05 PM

stripped and relocated my body harness today.. well almost got it done today.
what a gross sloppy mess of wire harness and surely one of the biggest eye sores of an fc engine bay.

anyway. picture time

junk pulled off
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...s/IMAG0028.jpg

cleaned up harness
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...s/IMAG0029.jpg

planning the layout
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...s/IMAG0030.jpg

finished harness and showing how much cleaner it looks on the drivers frame rail with all that bs out of the way
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...IMAG0031-1.jpg

i wanted to go through the upper frame but after drilling the inner hole, i saw that there is too much metal inside that channel with no easy way to get around it so i was forced to continue to the outside of the rail and then back in through a stock stamped hole
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...IMAG0032-1.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...s/IMAG0033.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...s/IMAG0035.jpg

still have to make a bracket for the fuse box and put it near the clutch master. still have to clean or rebuild the charging harness and starter/battery/power harness and then tidy it up.

came out really well i think but it kicked my butt and took the whole afternoon to do.

thanks for watching

i need to get this thread moved to the build sections..

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d...IMAG0036-1.jpg
engine bay finished besides a few little nit picky things. wire tuck is a must for all fc owners.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...s/IMAG0037.jpg
hung new exhaust today. not quite sure how i feel about it. will probably keep it around for a while though.

stevensimon Dec 5, 2011 04:34 PM

finally finished the exhaust over the weekend. downpipe welded up w/ vband and o2 bung. will post pics later. im stoked to seeing this thing so close to complete.

also my MR2 electric ps pump arrived so need to make a bracket and get some lines done and wire it up. just gotta figure out where i want to stick it.

waiting for some turbo oil/water fittings to show up then i can finally start driving and tuning the fc.

tuscanidream Jan 11, 2012 03:50 PM

Holy rotaries!!!! :)

sharingan 19 Jan 11, 2012 04:47 PM

Pure Awesome!

Love the IC, your v-mount has many similarities to mine. One key difference though, where did you get that AST!?!? I need one bad, as I currently have a jumbled mess of u bends flex hose and screw clamps connecting my thermostat housing to the rad inlet.

Also, this wiretucking business is seeming more and more like a necessity...sigh...more work to do.

stevensimon Jan 11, 2012 04:51 PM

the ast i built.

its a rotaryworks aluminum tstat elbow, 2.5" ic pipe, cut the cap off the radiator and put it on top. welded up hole in radiator.

sharingan 19 Jan 11, 2012 05:12 PM

if only I could weld....

Rotaryworks has a similar looking item in their (gawdawful) v-mount kit. I'm surprised they don't sell it sepearately as its probably the only thing of value ....maybe that IS the why? lol

stevensimon Jan 13, 2012 02:12 PM

i think their stuff is ok. maybe for fc guys its ok. i know fd guys are like zomg i have to do work? fuck that, your product sucks. but i mean, you have to think that these cars are over 20 years old by now. a million different variables are in play from car to car, especially when we are talking about things that are supposed to be bolted to the front frame work. maybe their stuff isnt clearanced well or maybe they just have qc improvements to make but still. they sell a lot of budget bang parts that would cost me a ton of time and money to make.. or a little bit of time and money to massage their stuff.

stevensimon Jan 15, 2012 12:07 AM

went to orileys today to get some bits for the fc. ran into some kind of corvette convention. i chuckled at all the 60yo's in c4's.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5...n/IMAG0046.jpg

tomorrow i will post my progress. my wallet hurts

banme4it Jan 16, 2012 04:29 AM

Nice car collection. I'm guessing the new FD runs?
