Seriously awesome how you have all these. Anything new in the collection?

Hey the rat rod style FC with the delrin bushings, how do you like the feel of them? Are they noisy and really harsh for street driving? I've been looking into what bushings to put on my track FC but I want to be able to drive it on weekends and to track events without driving me crazy. Just wondering what your thoughts are on them for the streets.

Hope to see some updates soon!

Haha thanks guys, I'm glad not all of you think I'm some loon.

As you'd of guessed it we picked up a few more..

We got:

91 vert, was used as a donor for a wrecked car, it was sawed about 6" infront of the firewall. Not sure if this counts as 100% of a car or not lol. $100 delivered

Over the past weekend we got 2 more as well. So the total count is now 25 7's here, that are in our name.

First was an '88 white vert. We went to look at it back in June 2013, at $1200. Was looking at for a friend to buy & be his project. Car needed some SERIOUS TLC, like, big time. Notable problems:

-you can let the clutch out in first gear, and literally NOTHING happens. Demolished transmission
-coolant reaks of exhaust
-nice aluminum radiator, which is mounted to the core support 100% only by zipties. That's my personal fav & a selling point.
-3/4 BBS centers!
-straight pipe muffle shop exhaust w/ 45* truck krom tips. Lulz.

Anyway, back to the car, & what we paid. As I said he wanted $1200 for it, or, what he put into it. (that BA aluminum radiator, corksport lines, a NEW MAF (do these EVER go bad??)). I told him it was worth $300 to me. He was clearly & quickly offended. Ah well.

About a month later, in july or august, it was back on CL for $1200 again. I quickly offered $300 yet again. Still not budging. Fast forward another month. Same scenario. And again, again, again. FINALLY, this past weekend, w/ the help of a good buddy, we FINALLY chipped him down to $300!!!! Went & scooped it up.

Note that there's a fan switch & the dual vac dashpot on the throttle body. Automatic engine?? HOPEFULLY lightweight flywheel & CW???

It's got some baller remnants of an '80s period correct "MAZDA===========" vinyl that ran along the door. Will need to try & recover that, somehow..

Here's the other, it's a '87 4 lug royal maroon car. Given to us, minus some parts.

Also, 2ndchance asked if I ever do anything that's got extensive modding to it, so here ya go!!

This is my current project, been at it since late october.

'88 Red vert, T2 swap. ALL engine/drivetrain/mech goodies are junkyard finds aside from the turbo, which are:

-S4 JDM block
-T2 trans, diff, axles, driveshaft
-929 brake master/booster
-base manual rack
-drilled slotted rotors
-new brake pads
-ACT 6 puck unsprung clutch
-tokico illumni shocks, eibach springs

Pays to scrounge the boneyards sometimes!!

I didn't want to just stop at installing this stuff, I wanted somewhat of a fabrication challenge, too. But, the main drive behind it was cost, so I didn't go too overkill. Remember I'm doing EVERYthing I can myself which does help w/ the cost factor. So the major mods are:

-medium pineapple street port during rebuild
-S5 turbo, T04B Vtrim compressor (BNR stage...2 I believe equiv), fresh rebuild
-FMIC
-S4 LIM, FD UIM
-full delrin bushings for engine/trans mounts, all control arms. All home machined here.
-Megasquirt MS2 V3 unassembled kit. WOOHOO Soldering!!!

Ofcourse there's the patented "Landon's cheeze factor", so it gets all the wonky much more S4 than S5 stuff dumped in, including

-Early '86 Orange clock w/ reverse pointing surround (sadly it now has a "hatch" warning icon, so I do feel quite silly about this one)
-Early '86 orange odometer, rolled back to exactly the same reading that the convertible odo was at
-Early '86 fender mount coolant bottle
-Sport/88T2/S4GTU aero package & duckbill spoiler, minus the aluminum belly pan (vert specific subframe in the way)
-manual rack, mentioned again
-3" DP to 3" all the way to OEM mufflers, w/ a cut out mid way for "when it's time to get serious"
-FULLY cleaned interior upholstery, NICE grey floor mats (junkyard find), all repaired and working electronics
-bizarre base model radio, which was "radio only" no cassette no EQ, the later 2 replaced w/ a ginormous cubby hole
-mesh mesh mesh, it will not get vert wheels but instead crown vics (junkyard, $40/set, LOL!!)

That's all I can think of ATM, here's some pics of where it's at currently. It's VERY close. I wish'd I'd kept w/ it as the build carried on, but to be honest, it's a lot more enjoyable to just go out & work on the car VS documentation of it & ongoing coverage for the internet. But I do try!! haha

Stk vs V trim T04B

Gets one of these, we're making all the cut sheet metal w/ a friend of ours who fabricated a CNC plasma cutter.

Copper gasket set

Made my own mount for the FD throttle body to use a 90s 3.8L GM TPS. Also an adapter block lets me use an S4 NA (VERY abundant) BAC valve, as I'm fresh out of FD ones

Excuse the mid-wiring catastrophe

What's up with the copper gasket set and 929 brake master cylinder?

Could you do another set of those delrin trans and motor mounts?

Copper gaskets are just my cheap work around for not buying OEM gaskets. haha. Hoping they work, & I'd like to start selling them. Based on the research I did prior to making them, I went about it the right way.

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...nstall-869142/ here's the write up on the 929 stuff, check it out!! It's a huge upgrade in my opinion.

Definitely down for delrin mounts if you want a pair! I'll PM ya

Hey Landon, with all your body shells I'm hoping you can help me.
I'm looking for the gas fill neck from a FC, I think it will work on my Z car project (but not sure yet).
Might you possibly have one you can spare?
