Probably just popped a hose or a coupler off.

Just thought I post a quick update on this budget build.
It took a lot of time and effort, but I got the car running and driving well. I took the car to get dyno tuned at a local shop that specializes in mazdas. It made 275.5whp... at only 6,000rpms. The S4 wastegate was causing some major boost creep, nearly 15psi by 6500rpms. The stock primaries and 720ccs couldn't keep up and were leaning out. There is no doubt this car is capable of 300+whp with some light tweaks.

I have loved working on this car and I've totally fallen in love with all things rotary.

new wheels and tires are on, pics to come.

1998 Mustang GT wheels, dunlop SP sport 01s (not my first choice in tire, but got them cheap and I can thrash them on the autoX). I did the white lettering. Total cost:$370.

I'm loving the look... I don't ever want to sell this car, but I also kinda want a house.

bumping it up from the dead. Additonal work done this winter includes:
Innovate Wideband gauge on the A pillar
Transmission reseal, new shifter assembly, and the discovery of an OS Giken Twin Disc Race clutch retailing for over 2 Gs
porting the turbo wastegate, eliminating the twin scroll, and new gaskets/lines to and from the trubo
rerouting vac lines
... and I think that's it.
I moved to NC a couple weeks ago and had to leave the car behind. I will be driving it 1000 miles from Boston to NC in the next several months. ought to be interesting...
