So this weekend cut out the driver door panel. Doing it the second door was wayyy easier! Was planning on getting some dry ice but got a little lazy so that will have to wait till next time. Tomorrow my tires come in so im going to mount those on two of the wheels. Gonna make sure my coilovers are coming in and then ill be happy ill get some more pics up of the doors soon!

Also gonna try and roll the rear fenders next weekend with a friends roller

Okay, the only reason I asked was because of the gutting of the doors. It certainly wouldn't be something I would do for any sort of street driven car.

Same here if it was going to be on the street. I'd keep them but no need for the extra 94lbs now

Picked up two more 8mm spacers for the rear so im at 15x8 -2 all around. Honestly i hate how long inbetween parts i take but with the money i make its hard to get stuff quicker. Ill be ordering my front two tires tomorrow and put them on monday. Will be gone this weekend so not much will be done to the car. Coilovers im hoping to be here late next week.

Some ideas im running through my head right now include:

Autopower cage vs. art morrison weld in
S5 intake vs. itb's
Aero kit vs. stock body
And other stuff

please discuss what you guys think

spacers.. have you put in extended studs yet?

autopower cage sucks. not sure about art morrison but i hated the autopower.

itb's will make your car really really retarded loud

depends on what aero

there is always other stuff to do

No extended studs yet im going to get them later right now im getting a lot of turns on the oem studs so ill be fine for now since it wont be driving.

As for the autopower did you have the bolt in? What about the weld in?

Itbs i could care less about noise going to be a track only car and a header and straight pipe with large street port will already be loud lol

Aero id get the ait d1 kit my friend gets me great discounts from them.

Yes there is much more these were just some things on my mind at the moment.

You're missing this one part that uses exhaust gasses to spin a wheel that compresses air going into the engine. That'd be baller. Hahaha

i had the bolt in version. didnt know they had a weld in. the gaps are just too big everywhere for it to look nice and give you adequate room. id really lean towards getting a custom fabbed cage where they can get the bars nearly touching the body. i think my widest gap is still under 1/4" on my cage..

Many sanctioning bodies and tracks have noise limits.
You might want to look into it as you think about the exhaust.

Well got the tires on all of the wheels now so she is back on the ground. My coilovers were shipped out yesterday by stance so i'm hoping no later then next week for them. I'll post up some pictures of the coilovers and wheels once they are on the car.

As for the sound goes clokker you make a good point i'll just stick to a s5 intake manifolds and port the throttle body as well. Hell I may just keep the s4 stuff and keep the actuators open.

I've been low on cash so I haven't been able to get anything recently for the car need more of my stuff to sell on here! lol. That's about it for this update, is it just me or does this build seem to be taking a long time or am I moving quickly? Idk

PS: changed the title of the thread to something I liked better if you didn't already notice

seems like a few people liked how i did the doors and i had a few questions on how they were done. So here are some more pictures of them and i'll try and go into more detail.

1. Remove door and cut wires going into door as they will not be needed.
2. Remove window, motors, and everything else you can from inside the door.
3. Remove the weather stripping from the bottom half of the door.
4. Get a sharpie and draw out where you want to cut. (I went as low as i could but kept the sides to keep some structure to the door when closing it.
5. Cut along your sharpie line and remove the panel.
6. Now to remove the beam, I drilled out the welds holding the beam to the door still (see pictures)

Make sure to just barely break through the weld DO NOT DRILL THROUGH YOUR DOOR I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DO! I used a smaller bit and worked up to a larger one to break the weld.

7. once all the welds are drilled through the beam should be free but you need to spray some goo gone or something equivilant inbetween the beam and the door to loosen the sticky circle things that are still holding it in.
8. Cut a little notch in the top half of the beam of the one side ( easier near one of the holes)
9. Bend the beam where you made the notch upward and remover the beam.
10. grind down and smooth any rough edges.
11. Put the weather stripping back in place and reinstall the door.
12. Finished product

***What you want to watch out for when drilling out the welds on the beam this is why you don't want to drill too far like I did (not sure if it's noticeable to you guys but I came close to drilling through the door and now i have a few little dents sticking out of my door)

*the weather stripping in optional you could keep it if you want but air tend to come into the cabin if it's not there and can get annoying I chose to keep it.

Feel free to ask any questions or if someone wants help doing it i'd be happy to join them in the process. Thanks!

Back to the build not sure what is going on with my coilovers they should have been here by now Jamie over at Stance is checking on them for me I hope to have them soon!

Alright Got my coilovers yesterday and installed them last night! I'm pretty excited. They still need to be adjusted which I going to go and do once I finish this post. I also go in my Racequip 5-point harness from Summit Racing. Anyways on with the pictures!

This is the Harness, nothing you haven't seen before

Here are the coilovers all layed out on my cart. (if you missed it I got the Stance GR+ Pro)

And here is how the car sat after I put them on( If you notice I put the stock fenders back on I think the wheels fit better on them than the 20mm overs, anyone want them??)

Also took a better pic of my cut out door sorry if you are getting sick of them, I'm not lol

I've got some plans for a custom built cage come april as well as getting a bracket made for my seat to mount. That's about it for tonight, I will get some more pictures of the car once I get the coilovers set where I want. Let me know what you think!!

They are actually Stance GR+ Pro's. Carbon doors would only be worth it to me at this point if they were dry carbon and I don't even want to know how much that would be! I think my door are the best weight for your buck!

I just got some bad news I went to adjust my rear coilovers and noticed the shock body was all scratched up from the knuckle of whatever it's called in the rear. Anyways because of this I am un able to tighten down the rear shock on both sides fully. I really pissed off right now after all the waiting I expected the fitment to be the least of my worries. So the car will be on stands for a while now

Well I finally got a new bolt and washer to shim the rear coilovers away from the hub. Got the car where I think I want it ride height wise. Not much has changed other than I may have to get rid of the car I don't know for sure yet but we will see. For sure my cage plans are probably going to be moved. I'm trying to get a second job right now to bring in some more income. I'll let you guys know how everything ends up.
