FC engine swap

Hey guys... Maybe this is a stupid question but.... I have two 87 T2's and I was going to swap the motor from one to the other. I know that if you do that with a Jdm engine, you have to mess with it due to the different emissions in Japan. So it's not a simple pull and drop. But, since these are both "American" models, shouldn't I be able to just pull one and drop it in the other?

I bought one for really cheap that runs, has blown seals but in great condition. I have an opportunity to buy another (running) T2 with recently rebuilt motor from RX7 world, documentation included, that I can pull motor and lots of parts from. My first option was to just rebuild the existing motor, but this other car has many other parts I want not just the motor.
