I used SOS 409 to clean try to clean my engine bay. It was so stained that I could not get it all out. At the bottom on the driver's side strut tower, their is so much build-up.

That's definitely a hard spot to clean. Unless you pull all that stuff out of the way, it's going to be one huge pain. Try a day or 2 of soak time.

So did you crank your turbo motor over yet to see about compression readings yet?

No, I manually turned the motor and listened for puffs of air. 6 good puffs(3front/3rear)

I will start it using the starter tonight and check with a compression tool.

Did a compression test using the compression tool

110PSI on the face of each apex. Compression is good on both rotors
I hooked up the wiring harness to my battery and turned the motor over by contacting the + terminal on the battery to the signal power on the starter.

I'm glad luck is on my side this. I was sweating bullets wondering if my engine was toast.

Its all hooked up. All I need is the chargepipe with an HKS flange on it. I would have used to stock one, but Tiger Direct had the flange broken off (common).

Larger than the stock one, I was not able to fit the fan shroud on there.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/43291434@N03/6470045023/http://www.flickr.com/photos/43291434@N03/6470045023/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/43291434@N03/, on Flickr

I ordered a Godspeed radiator. It was cheap and I know why. I had to drill out the welds on the old radiator and rig them up to the Godspeed unit to hold it in place.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/43291434@N03/6470045529/http://www.flickr.com/photos/43291434@N03/6470045529/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/43291434@N03/, on Flickr

I put on a dual pulley. This will prevent the belt from slipping at high RPMs.

My son getting in the way...

lol... I have a theory about Godspeed radiators. It seems that everyone's looks different. Mine doesn't have a radiator cap on it, and I didn't get one of the bleeders on the upper hose neck like you did. Mine is retarded, and I had to do much more modification to make it fit. For instance the lower hose neck had the heater hose coming off the side, instead of the top like it's supposed to.

Anyways, that was some quick work on your part. I suppose you're keeping the top mount, which will mean you're going to need a TII hood.

And you're going to want to have a fan shroud on that. I know you said it didn't fit, but one can be made VERY quickly and easily if you desire. I had no previous experience with fiberglass, but this came out pretty good for a first.

You can follow this to make one for yourself.

So I mite be missing something here but you said you got the TII swap with out the harness & ECU. So are you going full stand alone??? A stock N/A ecu is not smart.
Other than that super nice car!

Wow that's a great find on the vert. It reminds me of mine when I bought it with the haggard top and dirty bay. Except I bought mine as a shell and I'm installing the s5 n.a engine for awhile until I can comfortably afford a turbo2 swap. I gotta agree with everyone else, tiger Japanese has a terrible reputation so you are very lucky. So what differential and driveshaft are you using? I'm pretty sure our verts have open differentials so you'll need a turbo2 or n.a gxl driveshaft and differential if you don't already have them. It's looking good and I wish you luck

Apparently I am lucky ineed I am using the vert NA rear-end(4.1 in think) and the Mazdatrix TurboTranny-NArear driveshaft.

Tiger gets a worse rap than they deserve. I've gotten 2 cyclone engines from them with no problems.

That T-II swap is coming along nicely.

Sounds pretty legit and you do some quick work but I couldve sworn the verts had an open differential. I guess I was wrong but if so thats one less part I have to buy when it comes down to my Turbo2 swap lol. Ive heard of people getting piston engines from Tiger that were fine so maybe they just get **** rotarys. It sucks because its impossible to tell what the internals look like when you order offline. Luckily for me I am probably going to buy from a shop in NJ (JDM Engine Zone) and Im driving there to make sure the internals and everything are in good shape before I buy.

The S4 convertibles all came with the same 3.90 open differential the automatics came with. IIRC, the S5's are still open, but they're 4.10 ratio. You don't need a limited slip differential, it's not like it makes it any stronger. The turbocharged models came with stronger differentials and axles, but the NA units are fine unless you're pushing a ton of torque out, which is unlikely, or really abusing them such as at a drag strip or being stupid on the street.

Hm I didnt know that, All the posts Ive read on here are always saying you need a Turbo2 LSD or LSD from an N.A if you swap in the T2 engine

You don't "need" a TII differential, TII CV halfshafts, and TII driveshaft if you're not pushing crazy HP/torque. You probably WANT them, though. Once something breaks... You'll regret not swapping the stronger TII drivetrain parts. Mainly because something will probably break at the most inopportune time. (On the way to work, long road trip, g/f or wife's water broke, or your g/f and your wife's water broke, etc...) lol

Anyway, I like that radiator. Let me know how it works out for you... AGreen, how is yours holding up?
