Bracing on the inside is needed if you want the wing to work as intended.

Yo Ashley, good to hear your car is running good! One reliable rotary huh?

I'm thinking of doing an upcoming autox event at fontana hosted by speed ventures.

75 bucks, unlimited rounds (10-30 runs) and best of all you dont have to work lol.

As for the next track event, maybe sometime at the end of August and Early Sept.

Maybe we can all coordinate on something. I know Fris, Henry and my brothers are down to roll out together! You have my number!

Oh btw, still putting those NT01s to good use.

Yeah, there's a metal bracing on the inside. Together, they sandwich the rear panel.
Worked great, car was really really stable. Tossed it around so much.

Post-Track Update:

So the weekend before, I cleaned up my harness a little for cars and coffee. But I forgot to tie up my wideband wires and the plug cooked on the downpipe. Fris sent me replacement connectors except he didn't have a center locking piece for the female connector. Luckily I managed to save it.

The only major problem I had during the day was hitting engine protection because my car ran lean in a corner.

A couple things I think that could have caused it is:

New wideband and very sensitive engine protection. (Car ran great early in the day though, could be a heat issue)

Fuel getting too hot - fuel being less dense, lower afr, hit engine protection.
I think my fuel pump is getting too hot. It was warm when I touched it after a session. Hit engine protection on my first lap out in session 3 though. Pump had 1+ hours to cool down.

Driving the car at the rev limiter - coolant temps too high, coolant correction map didn't account for 180deg + coolant temps.

After adjusting the coolant correction map, the car ran great!

Here's the temps we've been seeing all day. We ran the car really hard. Had some issues with either the water temp correction map not accounting for water temps above 180, or my fuel was getting too hot(external pump) causing me to run lean. This would happen in a corner, and my tank was full. We adjusted the water temp correction map to add 5% more fuel in those upper regions.

Here's the connector I burned on my downpipe.

That center locking piece was melted on as one piece on the old one. Had to dremel the whole connector because it was glued together, then saved that center locking piece because Fris didn't have it.

Everything went back in smoothly, and car fired right up.

Brett's 20b rx-3, sounds mean!

Henry was out there passing everyone.

Had some more issues with this car towards the end of the day. For some reason, I was missing an axle boot clamp? DIdn't notice it until there was grease everywhere in my wheel. Used a zip tie as a temp, and ran my last session. Gotta take it out and regrease. Grease looked milky.

I got 210-215 or so after an autox run. On a hot summer day I'll hit close to 200 cruising on the hyw

Yea lets do that. Depends on when it is, my wife is due with our 2nd kid around then.
Looks like I missed a track day with a few RX7s.

Any idea what lap time you were running?

But yea the car is ready to go. It runs great without the rotary

PM me your number again if you see this!

I'll let you know what my temps are when I autocross.

Comparing a minute autocross run vs a 25 min track session isn't fair haha.

I'm going to seal up the gaps in the ducting, and run 25/75 coolant/distilled water. That should help my temps out tremendously.

Shine Auto FD diffuser. I actually picked up this diffuser fairly cheap, that's why I decided to use it. The side mounting pieces on the diffuser were heated and shaped to fit.

The more and more I see this car, the more I want to stay S4 trim. Do you have any close up pictures of where the front bumper sits (near the turn signals and trim)? Does it sit flush or is there a slight edge where it rests?

I don't, but i'll try to snag one this weekend. IIRC, there is a slight edge and it goes in right under the trim. Shine stuff fits really nicely.

Before Sevenstock 19 update

So at the track one of my rear axle's bands broke off somehow, and I was throwing grease everywhere in my wheel well. I fixed this temporarily at the track with a really long zip tie.

I took it off cleaned out the old grease (looked milky from water getting in), and repacked the joint with some new grease.

Installed the heatshield that goes in the section near the passenger footwell underneath the car and put on some heat reflective tape.

Installed an ebay catch can I got off ebay. This thing is pretty nicely made actually.

Bought a rotary key from my boy Andy from Rotary13B1 and rekeyed my whole car to match the ignition because all the keys were different. Sorry don't have any pics.

Installed stock heatshields on my turbo because turbo blankets from ebay wern't cutting it and getting a inconel turbo blanket for a stock turbo isn't worth it.

Hit up cars and coffee recently with my brother. Crowds just flocking to his FD.

Also hit up ACS last weekend for the infield setup to shakedown our cars before seventsock. We were the only rotary powered cars out there, so we got a lot of attention. People kept asking us how many engines we've been through. In all my years of ownership, I've never once had to rebuild an engine. *knock on wood*

On a side note, my other brother is building a red FC painted Ferrari Corsa Red.

Looking good!

Do you still have p/s?
And how does the car feel?

Also, make sure the engine breather is big enough

No, I have a manual steering rack!

Car handles great! Had zero issues with it at the track. Found out my NT01s were cording in one of the wheels in the front the night before sevenstock... I rushed to get my RS-RRs installed.

The RS-RRs have so much grip...

Thanks man!

It's a Sexy Style Replica Hood from Shine Auto. I'm not sure if they still make this. This hood on my car has been around longer than I've been in the rotary game. It was the old hood off the old lucky 7 20b racecar.

Okay! cool!

Got a de-powered rack (propperly done) and im not yet satisfied, I might try a manual rack.

Since last few laps I lost my wheel bearing dust caps, and my oil catch can overfilled because the breather was to small.

De-powered? Must have giant forearms lol.

I haven't had that problem with my catch can yet. How do you have it routed? I have one hose going from the back of the block to the can, and one hose from the oil neck nipple to the can.

Well I removed everything on the inside, so it isn't pushing fluid around, and it isn't trying to compress air that is inside. It's just the friction from caused by the gears and the tension that is on there with that adjustment nut.

The oil filler neck that I had, needed to be modified for my V-mount setup, so I thought it was a good idea to cut off that small pipe that it on the end of the filler neck. So without that I only had 1 AN06 line going to that pipe on the block behind the fillerneck base.

Now I made a custom aluminum filler neck with an AN10 bung on the end, but I'm still waiting for the hose-ends to finnish it.

car looks awesome. keep it up.

I'm running a jegs catch can with a -10AN to the filler neck and a 3/8" hose to the center iron and it's been pretty good. still get oil in there, but I empty half way through the autocross season and it's fine.

Seems like you have your catch can routed generally in the same way I have it done. And you're still filling it up so quick? Jeezus.

Thanks man! I'm a big fan of your car as well. Really dig your current widebody setup. So much tire lol. I don't get that much oil in there either. I'm not even a quarter full after 4 HPDE sessions. The tank isn't even that big.
