It's been quite some time since my last update, but I have made lots of progress. The car is nearly a shell now. All that is left is the column and harness on the interior. As for the rest of the car, The suspension is on still of course. The brake line going to the rear axle is still there as well. I haven't worked on the car for a few days out of pure laziness, and I've been doing serious research for many hours each day.
As of right now the goal is to get the interior stripped, factory sound deading removed, and the storage bin rust taken care of. Then I can spray the interior with sound deadener and heat insulation. I can also buy materials to strip the paint off of the body and get it down to bare metal, hopefully I can get it painted by january. At this rate it's definitely not going to be ready by June first, but I can dream.
What's everyone doing for rear suspension setup on these cars? As of right now it's going to get new bushings at the very least, along with the SE axle. If I push much more than stock power on the engine I definitely want a good setup for a street car. I've been doing research on the rear ends of these cars and I almost feel as if it's doing more harm than good... I'd like to lower the car too (probably using stance coils) which will introduce another issue, being the increased pinion angle. Adjustable upper links should help solve this though that's all they'll do. I've heard spherical bearings on a street car is less than ideal due to NVH but sometimes sacrifices must be made. Otherwise am I stuck going to a panhard setup? I've heard good things about the G-Force engineering setup but finding those old kits might be an issue.
The amount of research I've had to do is insane, I hardly knew a thing before I started the project!
Also, I've made a build "list" to assist me in collect my thoughts/plans for the car.
