Looking good! FWIW, that XR4TI would also make a decent rally car. The europeans used to rally the bejeebus out of Ford sierra's, which is what that car is based on.

im pretty familiar with them. friend of mine runs one out here in the PNW. Well its his second one. First one has an encounter with a tree. Probably will wind up as rally car 3.0 since the SCCA pro rally cage in the rx7 (grandfathered in) is kinda skimpy (read: scary)

some updates!

vast majority of wiring is done! headlights, taillights, brakes, etc working. little more detail work left with chassis wiring. Gauge panel is done, ecu wiring is done. Trying to work to get the car started. Thinking i have a setting wrong with the Megasquirt causing spark to be 180 out.

What suspension was on it prior to your new stuff, do you remember? I'm looking into slightly higher suspension setups than stock (PO put lowering Tokico's on my current car and I don't like it)

Bilstein HDs with a slighter stiffer and slightly taller than stock custom spring (of which the specifics were lost over time). P30 fronts, rears were f4-b46-0317-h0

I've wanted to build an FB rally car since I was 16. I'm now 26 and I finally actually own an FB... but this looks like a lot of work, and if I crashed it my first time out I'd feel really silly, but still, awesome job. Looking forward to seeing more.

building a rally car can be done for cheap, but it heavily depends on your own ability. The initial startup cost of a built car is high (especially for safety stuff, cage seats, belts etc)
