No biggie Tim. The stock TII top mount has a shield underneath it. If any water passes through the intercooler it would fall onto the the shield and run to the firewall down the back of the engine. That just gave me a thought! Running it in the rain would drop my intake temps and make more POWER!

BTW Michael, any time you want to turbo yours just give me a call

I still haven't decided to paint the hood the factory K8, or just go for the 'ol flat black.

i like that Suby hood scoop! keep in mind, i don't care for hood scoops much (the T2's in particular), but this somehow looks right on your car.

The jury is still out for me. I say paint the hood the same color as the car.

great project!!!

interesting info on better performance with the stock IC...what size FMIC did you have prior?
I say paint the hood flat black or CF like other stated. So glad you took the APC vinyl off the car, it makes me think of ricey civics and such.

Thanks for the comments guys. I finally got around to painting the hood and the scoop. I went for Hot Rod Black. The pics don't do it justice. I'll have to get some more pics after I clean the car up and wet sand the hood.

I have used the SEM interior paint on just about anything you can think of on the interior. Very durable and easy to apply. Just make sure you clean what ever you are wanting to die very thoroghly.

I really like the idea of the top mount and scoop for my planned 79 turbo project

you have a picture of the underside of the hood when mounted with the subiscoop ?

scoop screw on from underside ??

I'll try and remeber to get some under hood pics. The '04 Subaru hood scoop has studs underneath that are used to secure.

thanks , underside pics would be great . I have a friend with a stock subi scoop he'll give me, he bought a larger (higher) one for his wrx

any TMIC clearance issues with the first gen hood ?

can you give the layout dimensions of the hole ? If I go that way, the T2 engine won't be in until after i get the car painted ( and hole cut )

The top mount will clear the hood no problem.
