Paint cost?

I am asking for a ball park figure. I am going to do all the work with a friend. I am repainting a beige 1984 SE same color. No rust, and only minor body work. So, can any one give me an idea how much the materials will cost? Most of the car will not be sanded down to bare metal because the color is not changing. Some thin bondo but that is it. Thanks

prices around me are

Simple jobs are 2-3k usually

Full color changes as in door jams engine bays ect ect run 5-7k if you do all the teardown a 6-8k if they do the tear down.
And full strip and inside/outside paint 12-15k+

All depending on type of paint (single stage or 3 stage or pearls ect ect) and amount of work involved

You shouldn't post questions in the build threads section...

But, to answer the question.

You can do a nice job yourself for under $400. A shop can do a "nice" single stage for $1000 if you take it to them prepped. They can do a "nice" 2 stage for under $2000. A "better than factory" nice job with multiple coats of paint and color sanding will take you close to $4000.

sorry

Sorry for the wrong location to ask a question. I was using another persons' device and could not see all the threads. Can you tell me the right one? I will be painting the car myself and should have made that more clear. From what you all said/posted, it should be around $400 bucks. Thanks for the help.
