as for the rust I just cut this out of a hurricane fatality 1979.

My car suffers from the rear wheel well rot. The right side is mostly good, but the left has a sizable chunk taken out of it.

As apposed to installing parts that have budding rust on them or spending HOURS on the wire wheel I've opted to do electrolosys.

That's freakin' awesome! Isn't electrolysis great?!? You get results like that, kills the rust, and it's EASY! No spending hours with a wire wheel or grinder and creating a mess. Awesome.

I didn't let it sit around in the humid air long after I got it out of the electrolysis bath. I treat it with the metal ready from POR-15 after it was good and dry just to make sure I had done all I can to prevent it from rusting again (in my lifetime anyway) and then painted it; either with POR-15 or rustoleum. It likely will not be a permanent solution, but it gave me peace of mind that I had done what I could to battle the rust.
