Looking really good man! Been watching this thread for a while but didn't post till now. Glad to see you still have the car and are making progress on it!

craaaazzy 10-30-13 08:45 AM

thanks lindahlish. it's a slow project...

turbogsl-se pointed me to Hinmi racing for some items they carry such as bolts...may order some myself but need to check out my local hardware store first.

Awesome build man building watching it for awhile. Currently building my first gen rx7 as well doing a 89 turbo ii motor with a haltech ecu. Keep up the awesome work man!!!

craaaazzy 12-02-13 08:15 AM

Awesome man engine looks good!!! How many horses do u plan on achieving?

craaaazzy 12-02-13 09:52 AM

my goal is high 200's but it may be more than that considering it's a large street ported motor, upgraded intercooler, aftermarket downpipe, no cat, etc.

OH YEAH easily over the 200 mark their. I planning on doing about 350hp in my rx7 with the 13B im gonna build. Got brand new s4 housings that have a aggressive street port to them and going to run like new s5 irons with a large aggressive streetport as well.

I love the wide body on your car man a lot. I want one for my first gen as well. Your car looks awesome mate :)

You going to run the stock computer on the 13b-rew?

88fc3sT2 12-02-13 08:56 PM

Low boost on a good tune, I think you'll pull easily over 320hp.

highnitro12187 12-02-13 08:56 PM

Hey Fred!

Nice to see your not selling the car still. the 13b is looking nice, cant wait to see it sitting in the engine bay!

craaaazzy 12-02-13 09:19 PM

will be using PFC. i believe i have the wiring figured out on paper but am not going to post it up until i get it running as i don't want to post bad wiring information. i'm being conservative in my estimate as i'm not one to be hung up on numbers. it's definitely not going to be a dyno queen...i like the usability of the stock twins for the street and will be keeping it sequential.

Adamfbrx785 12-03-13 10:39 AM

Sounds good man. I'm ready to see the wiring diagram for swap. Can't wait for the details :)

I don't think it'll be helpful with the TII swap but if u want to take a look, I can definitely send it to u. If ur good at looking at wiring diagrams, you can possibly help me confirm some things then.

Adamfbrx785 12-03-13 08:28 PM

OK sounds good then :) would love to see how it looks and I can help the best I can as we both know the fb harness is so simple compaired to the fd harness.

Got my spare haltech ecu in the mail today :) and for my wiring for the engine im not using the turbo ii wiring harness just using the connetors.

finally got the chance to work on the car this holiday. installed a mazda 626 fusebox which was easy enough. had to make 2 small brackets out of aluminum.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-1...hoto%25201.JPG

but i did mess up and did some damage to the body. was cleaning up and moving some stuff around the garage, including the REW motor. was removing the motor from the engine stand and for whatever reason, i totally forgot to put in the pin to one of the legs of the engine hoist and once i unbolted the engine from the stand, it tipped over and came crashing down on to the hood, fender, and headlight cover. the fiberglass fender held up well considering how much weight fell on it (does have some spider web cracks now). the hood and headlight cover are both dented and chipped. may as well take the time now and install a vent on the headlight cover. blah, was a dumb mistake on my part. will need to call my painter and see how much the damage is.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-H...hoto%25202.JPG

also took apart the twin turbo so i could start working on porting the wastegate. unfortunately, my dremel took a dump so will need to get another one.

craaaazzy 12-28-13 03:15 PM

i did notice that my brake fluid level was down a bit. looks like it's leaking between the master cylinder and booster. i'm assuming i need a new master cylinder or have to rebuild it. anyone familiar with rebuilding? how hard is it? need to start research on this now...

Its the brake master cylinder mine did that as well. Last time I replaced mine I got a brake master cylinder from Oreillys for about 25 or 26 bucks. I just had to switch over my brake fluid reservoir from my old master cylinder to the new brake master cylinder or you can rebuild it.

Do you have the Haynes manual for the first gen rx7? It tells you how to rebuild it.

craaaazzy 12-29-13 04:06 PM

Thanks for the info, may as well get a rebuilt unit instead of rebuilding it myself since it's pretty cheap.

Adamfbrx785 12-29-13 09:12 PM

No problem man. Yeah I checked here at my local O'reillys auto parts store and its 25 bucks but you gotta bring in your old master cylinder or you got to pay the core charge.

lx_machado 01-01-14 08:32 AM

Ouch Fred! It doesn't look too bad from the pictures. I'm still searching for a fiberglass guy, let me know if you find one.

Nothing a little bondo can't fix I hope. Still have no connection on fiberglass work though, sorry Alex.

Worked on wiring the 2nd gen CAS connector to the REW harness. Also followed Banzai's instructions to modify two 2nd gen igniters for use with the PFC.

Adamfbrx785 01-02-14 10:17 AM

I have someone that does excellent bodywork and has been a long time family friend and has done worked on my rx7 and does nothing but superb work and fair pricing. He has been doing bodywork for a long time and has his own shop at his house and also does work for many car dealerships. He has a first gen rx7 as well.

If your willing to bring the car up to south carolina.

craaaazzy 01-02-14 10:35 AM

pm me your zip code just so i can see how far it is...driving to columbia is over 3.5 hrs so it may not be worth it.

Frankenmazda 01-03-14 08:59 PM

fiberglass

Shame we aren't closer. I could certainly do any fiberglass work.

Good luck with it!

I know this would probably be last on your list for mods, but if you look at the FB (RE-Amemiya I presume?) in this pic, it would seem there's a side step that connects the front & rear quarters, giving the kit a more "complete" look. I personally love it & will be trying something similar with my kent widebody. Just a thought. Great build so far! Can't wait to see her run!

craaaazzy 01-06-14 07:53 PM

Oh nice. Never seen this before, thanks for sharing. That would actually make the kit look complete! I'll have to keep it in mind.

Like u said frankenmazda, too bad your not closer else I'd ask for help in building this ^^^
