Complete Racing Beat Header Exhaust System

Not sure if this is the right section to post this .... So been looking for an 84 or 85 GSL-SE .i located 2 but they both have Complete Racing Beat Header Exhaust System on them ..my question i live in NY ..will the car pass Emissions? Or is the car Exempt from the test because its over 25 yo??? Plus if i keep the racing beat header system on is there anyway i can make it not be so very loud??? Any Info is much appreciated ..thanks

No the car wlll not pass emissions, but it doesnt need to. It may fail a visual since the air pump and cats will be deleted. Low enhanced emissions requires you to have ALL emissions items in place, but they are not going to sniff test the car. Whether or not you get a proper insp sticker all depends on who you go to. I should also mention thal ALL safety items on the car (lights, horn, wipers etc) must be in working condition. Good luck

Racing beat systems are very quite compared to my exhaust. Header cat pipe old muffler.

I second the above. My 85 SE has full RB system. Doesn't seem that loud, and I'm an OG. Make sure the rear sound mat is under the rear carpet and all the interior is in place. Helps alot. Drove mine for a month without rear trim/sound mat pieces installed, much louder!
