NE The Beginning!

Well I finally hit the magic 10 posts required to be able to start up my build thread , My name is William, I purchased my red 83 RX7 last month from a fellow forum user for $600 bucks. The body is pretty much rust free except for some minor surface rust and a little rust on the driverside rear wheel well. It has the black interior, 5-Spd and a 12A with a nikki carb installed in her at the moment. I plan on lowering the car, installing 15" mesh neon green rims, repainting her black and putting a widebody kit on. Eventually there may be a turbo installed and dual oil coolers but that's down the road.

When I got her to my parents house and in the driveway.

NOTE: have to upload my pictures of the car will edit the post in a few minutes with the pictures.

The side molding was not on the car when I got the car... probably going to leave it off anyway

Use some mineral spirits or "Goo-Gone" to remove the remaining glue n gunk. Nice project. Can't say I like the idea of neon green wheels, but it's your car and that doesn't mean much from a guy that wants red wheels on a silver car.

That or pick up an eraser wheel from your local auto paint supply shop. It comes in a kit or can be put in a drill or die grinder.

Here are the other pictures I took of it on the way to my parents house. Been real busy with work so haven't had any time to put anything up.

This weekend decided to install an aftermarket radio into the rx7... after getting it installed and the front speakers working I took it around the block to make sure everything still worked correctly... as I came up to the hill on the next block from my parents house, the clutch gave out so today I'm going to start removing everything to replace the clutch disk, pressure plate and throw out bearing

Got the pilot bearing replaced and the new clutch disk and pressure plate installed on sunday. Need to adjust the clutch i think along with giving her a tune up and rebuilding the carb.

Alright scratch that, ive put the 13B up for sale and will be changing the direction of the car from drifting to drag racing (will be drag racing primarily at midamerica motorplex).
