85 rx7 12A countyline special

So I finally have a nice reliable daily (Toyota Tercel) and although I got rid of my beloved gsl-se, ( frame bent, motor blown) I still have an 85 gsl that is in pretty good shape, straight frame, spare 12A motor/tranny, although it has its rust its pretty minimal. I bought the shell with a hokey- say it with me hoe-key roll cage in the back. I have stripped it down to almost nothing. I pulled the motor from the gold car. Motor seems strong, just the carb is very dirty and won't idle. Ill be using the car to take it down the street to an 1/8th mile track down here in south Florida called Countyline, was an old airport back in the day. Anyway car runs strong need to work out bugs like stripped transmission crossmember bolts, carb idle issue. Need to do battery relocation, more weight reduction, wiring tuck/removal. The car will slowly, step by step be faster. A mod here a mod there. Next performance mods are exhaust, intake, suspension, bushings. I love getting tips and tricks, opinions, your two scents... Let me know what y'all think

How much weight have you pulled out of that thing??...and ouch! That was some hit the gold one took! Why limit yourself to a few seconds on the eighth mile.....take on some twisties and turnies and really enjoy that thing.

I have pulled almost everything from under the dash, and from the back I removed the carpet, the bins, plastics interior pieces, insulation... Even some wiring. I would say about 100 lbs If that. The gold 83 did take a serious hit ! It WAS in good shape before that hit, I took everything I could from it, I messed up and should of cut it up because the metal was in such great shape. I do want to do some other type of racing, road course , something, do you guys know where I can race besides 1/8th mile down my local track?
