I recently purchase a Dellorto 48 carb that has a R5010 metal tag so I am assuming it's a Racing Beat Dellorto like yours. Though the Dellorto appears to be in excellent condition I want to rebuild the carb. Would you mind sharing your Dellorto gasket set, parts source?
I get all my parts straight from dellortos website or Rob at Rotary Shack.

sounds like good build man ! There are quite a few ways to tell if it is a RB carb. The accel pump will have a thick rubber spacer, the idle jets will have a 1.4mm hole drilled in the top, and a think a couple other things.

Hey thanks for the info. I checked and mine does have the thick, black rubber spacer under the accel pump so that confirms it being an RB. Good to know about Rob for parts. I hadn't thought about parts even though I have been in contact with Rob and he's working out a manifold setup for my Dellorto.

Good luck on your build. Very impressive.

No Problem !

Rob is extremely knowledgeable in RX7s. He has helped me an extreme amount, So I try to promote him as much as I can.

Oh.... dont try to use a TII lower intake just so you know... the carb wont clear the hood. Ill post pictures tomorrow. I just found this out tonight... the hard way.

Update Time

Ive got good news andddd Ive got pretty upsetting news.

Good news is I got the front coilovers built and the car is sitting nice n low. I ditched the 5 lug swap. Mainly because the wheels I had wont fit without a whole lot of horse ****.

I welded the perch so that the top of the sleeve was a 1/2" lower than the top of the strut. Using 7-1/2" 200 lb. springs with KYB insterts.

Bad news.

I got my LIM blasted it, powder coated it and bolted it on only to find that it made my carb stick out of the hood 2 1/2" inches above the hood.

^ basically how I felt.

So I am going to buy the one piece manifold from Rob at Rotary Shack like I should have the first time. It will be a little while. Its a good sized chunk of change lol.

oh....... and my exhaust is all done.. and looks KILLER.

Dam that suck about the LIM.
Have you thought about cutting out a section out of the LIM and reweld it back together.

Rear exhaust looks great btw!

Yeah but the problem is all the flange casting for the BAC and all that is directly under the top flange. So there isnt any open space so to speak to be able to take out without mismatching.

Ill just have to bite the bullet and buy the one piece. Which aesthetically is worlds better anyway.

Thanks on the exhaust, i cant wait to hear it !

Try thinner engine mounts.

Also a no go. Water pump pulley would hit my e fan.

There is only one solution, and its the shorter one piece manifold.

Quick Update.

The FC fuse block is wired in. Tested power yesterday and everything works as it should.

Hopefully tomorrow I have another update.

Wow, love the interior. Engine is beautiful also. I had a picture saved of a silver FB with silver engine and always thought that was the best color for the engine.

I read somewhere the 2 piece side draft manifold doesn't flow as well as the one piece, don't know if it's true but, I agree the one piece looks way better. Esp the one from Rotary shack.

Man you must be telepathic. It was 50 degrees yesterday so i went out and busted my *** working one car.

I finalized the drivers side coilover, all energy bushings in the front are installed, bolted up the steering components, ran the fuel line, and the fc buse block is mounted in place for good.

Well man, actually. Im about to put it up for sale or part out. Why ? The usual reason, family, quick cash and time. I hate to but i do have an abundance of finished toys including a hopped up 2014 camaro 1le and a jap bobber i built thats getting featured in raw bike magazine i hope. I know. I know. It sucks but it has to be this way. Thanks for all the support and kind words throughout my years on the club. I will remain avid in the club forum. Maybe one day ill have another but life happened and ive gotta let it go. Not just for money, but time as well. I know my signature is a pretty big testament of the bond they created for my brother but it wont bring him back. Ill always have cars and bikes and to him that was what it was all about. Sorry guys, it makes me half sick to do it but i have to let it all go.
