Decided to tackle my electrical nightmare. Pulled my interior to bits to investigate my nonworking cluster. Finally got the cluster out and discover this.

Bingo! I think. Its always nice to SEE the problem. Cleaned the area and bridged it with some wire and solder

Replaced all the blown light bulbs and plug it back in, tach comes to life but is still not right. Bright side (no pun intended) is the dimmer works great now. So looks like I will be looking for a replacement cluster. I will still take this one apart further to see if it is fixable.

I managed to track down another cluster for a reasonable price (this is much harder than it sounds) and got to work on why the blower was non op. Removed the glovebox and took it all apart. Couldn't believe all the junk in there

connected it to a battery and discovered it was a good motor. After lots of "radio voo doo" removal and replacing the proper ground and 20 amp fuse we now have an operational blower. I will drive out to pick up my cluster this week some time After that just waiting on a new flasher and then the interior all goes back together. I might as well get some speakers at this point and install the stock radio. Should be fun.

here is the latest walk around on the car before I pulled apart the interior to troubleshoot electrical stuff

Really considering taking this off the market. I think its a great car and I'm really attatched to it since its "my motor" in there and all the time put in.

I thought I would take a minute to update this thread....and bring it to its conclusion. After sorting all the bugs on the car (or most of them) I kept the car on the market and it sold around Thanksgiving time. It went to forum member JoonPR. I couldn't be happier. Great guy. I know the car is in good hands and will be looked after.
The decision to sell it stemmed from the fact that I did everything I wanted to the car, from some pretty involved body work to using it as a home for an engine I built kinda like a test bed car. It taught me a lot. This was also the first car I used an aftermarket carb on with a dead head set up. It was interesting and made great noise. All these lessons will be very handy when I start the build on my 85 which is a keeper. Stay tuned!

Cool story, bro. Could you add a link to the build thread for your '85? That'd be great for completeness sake.
