13b block found for cheap! Should I get it?

Hi guys I recently found a 13b engine block for sale. The owner is saying it was running before it was pulled out of the car and sat. I just asked him and he thought the engine was moving freely before but it's siezed up now. All he knows is that it was from an "80s rx7" (wish I knew what gen)

He's wanting 50$ for it now. And with gas it's going to cost me 200.

I'm hoping I can rebuild it for my first gen fb.

Is it worth it? 200 for a "mystery" 13b?

Anyway I can tell if it's first or second gen? Will both of those bolt up to my fb? And will I need to do anything to the drive train to make it work? It has a 12a right now. It has the alternator and water pump still on it.

1984-85 only 2 years a 13B came in a 1st gen,the SE model and it was fuel injected. Hard to say if it's worth it,less so if it's locked up.Owner doesn't seem to know much about it,or doesn't say what he might know if he can get $50 for a paperweight...and that's $250 for you to get the paperweight...1st/2nd gen doesn't matter, both will bolt into your car.Advice? Put that $250 toward a known good running engine that you can see/hear run before removal. Give the guy your # so when he can't sell it,you can take it off his hands for free and use it for learning how rotaries are put together and how they work. Might be some usable parts inside-still costs $200 to get it.I think you could find something better closer to home.

Ok. So to clarify it's 200 total. But I see what you mean. Is it even possible to get a running engine that cheap? Also this was originally carbed with a DellortoHLA 48 carb and racing beat intake. He's asking 100 for that but I'm hoping I can talk him down on it.

I'm hoping at the very least I can learn how to rebuild on it. Im mostly seeing this as a rebuilding project and seeing as how there is a carb for it as well would you say it's still not worth?

My goal here is to rebuild it. Learn on it and keep my 12a somewhere safe while I use the 13b. Seems interesting that it has the carburator. Perhaps that makes it not so bad? I can skip all the EFI stuff.

if he doesn't budge on the carburator that is 350ish total for everything.
