i like where your build is going. kind of similar to mine, but different turbos. you have a very nice collection of cars also.

some updates

i played with my turbo again, trying to install all the oil and water lines

this is SOOO beautiful

i took out my exhaust manifold again, and i put the lava heatwrap, i'm listening opinions about this, but i try to isulate everything i can, i also tested the insulation levele putting my finger in one side and a lighter on the other... was something very stupid cause i burnt my finger LOL

i tested again the turbo fitting, the silicone elbow, the piping and the oil lines, i think im going to put the oil line behind the elbo, i don't like how look in ths is picture

Thanks for the attention

The turbo blanket will fry that turbo if you track it. Seen it plenty of times myself, and GTX turbos don't qualify for the GT CHRA exchange.. Just a little food for thought.

Thanks! thatīs very important info for me, so you say i have throw away that blanket and what i can do to prevent Heat soaking of my Lim and everything arround the turbocharger? or i just leave it like that...

and another question... when you talk about tracking my car and frying my turbo, how much time do you think i have to beat it to fry it? cause here we have some events but we run in times of 3 or 4 laps.... maybe 5 minutes of abuse... im not going to race it for half an our...

Thanks again for your help... in Argentina we donīt see this cars often, and im building it alone and learning a lot from this forum and another web pages

If you take the blanket off, and don't run more than 18 psi at the track the turbo will last. Reason I say no more than 18psi is the EGTS will probably skyrocket from the undersized turbine wheel/housing above those power levels.

Thanks, i was thinking of tunning it for a daily use of less than 15 psi... (probably an every day use with 10 psi and a booster to 15) and maybe boost it a little more with Water meth injection, but iīs something i will see at the dyno looking my knocking numbers, im not looking for a record breaker car.... i just want to go fast ...

so you think i made a wrong choise with this turbocharger?

Not at all as long as you have the 1.06 a/r. Hopefully within another week I will have the results of a GTX35R on a 2 rotor @ 15psi..

If you're going to be running it hard for only stints of 5 minutes and at those low boost levels, IMO you can leave the blanket on.

I've been tracking my FD for the last two years with about 15 track days and a blanket on my 500R with no ill effects. I'm talking 4-5 sessions per day of 20-30 minutes per session.

hi, i need some advice on this!

i was testing the fitting of my turbocharger and i saw it' s VERY close to de LIM, y don't like that...

take a look

it's so close that my turboblanket doesn't fit

so.... i thought to put some kind of 3/4" spacer behind the turbocharger... some piece of metal with the exact shape of the T4 manifold and the idea is to move the turbo a little bit something like this

maybe i can move it even a little more...

what do yu guys think?

ahhh I think that really blows. Looks like that's really your only choice.. unless you got a new manifold or shaved some alum off the Lower intake manifold. I guess you could do a ghetto fab and purchase 2 exhaust flages from the block to the turbo manifold and use them as spacers.. But you'd have to get another gasket.. It would push it 1/4 inch out though..

God little stuff like that is such a pain in the *** huh?

yes... itīs a real pain... the other choise is to put a spacer on the other side of the manifold, between the manifold and the housings... but i need 2 and the have to be PERFECT i mean.. they need to have the same width, cause if they not i will have a manifold leak, a friend of mine done a spacer on his turbocharged car, he went to a machine shop and ask them to (i donīt know how to say that) put in that machine for the cilinder heads that makes a perfectly plane surface and he used a good exhaust sealant between the manifold an this spacer and he doesnīt even needed a gasket...

tomorrow iīll give the model to a friend and he is going to cut it with water cut? how do you say that? and then he will take it to the machine shop... he has time to spent... i donīt

thanks!
