Did you use engine assembly lube? Makes for a nice low-wear first start.

OH Engine lube & inspection time ....

What is engine lube? Just messin w/ya. Used some lube and plenty of oil too.

Spent the last week, evenings after work, inspecting parts, cleaning, prep, etc..
I am probably the slowest engine builder. I chase threads, tons of stuff thats def not necessary, but thats how I like to do it. There is always enough time to do it right ya know.

Nice bro, just got done doing this myself. No feeling in the world like doing all that work, dropping it in, squeezing your butt cheeks together and suddenly becoming religious while turning the key for the first time. Having it roar to life and spit a toxic cloud out the back is great fun.

Only thing I see is that in your dsc00358 pic it looks like your apex seal isn't pushed all the way down and might get pinched by the iron when you put it on top.

Thanks bro

Yes thats my daily driver. 2005/2.3/5-spd/S model/Black cloth seats w/red in the center /No sunroof/17" wheels. Only thing that would have made it exactly what I wanted would have been regular black paint, mine is the black mica, not bad though plus it was a 1 owner, 42k highway miles, garaged too. Got 50k on er now. I have been really happy w/this car and plan on drivin it for a long time. Needs a quality header though, has more engine noise than exhaust noise .

How about my STT lights, notice anything different?

Thanks again

Sorry, I screwed up again on the pics of exhaust ports. I always forget to take good pics of em for some reason, I'll try to remember next time. Basically I took these just to make a thread for fun and for the owner.

You mean the crosshatchins on the irons machined surfaces? This engine, complete w/tranny, everything, was originally purchased for the rotors and housings for another build. It was def a very very low mileage engine, still had stickers, stuff like that. Was unbelievably clean & had F ROTORS too which made me think it was newer though I'm not sure if that means anything. Anyway decided to port this one, new bearings, RA seals, all orig pcs going back together.

To answer your question, all engine parts inspections were well within tolerance of all my guages. This should be a real nice one. Gonna try to drop it in this weekend.
