Actually got the car out a few times recently.
Snapped some pictures on an extended errands/shopping session
Clean-ish engine bay. Shiny new bolts for the overflow and washer tank necks.
Here's a couple pictures of the repaired sun visor barrel(left). It's been holding up really well.
You can't tell one has been sliced in half and glued back together.

The woman person has informed my my parts queue is unacceptable. Some stuff to be sold, some to be installed, some to be squirreled away in storage.
I really wanna redo my radiator, AST, and hoses. But, I've been super busy and some nice parts side tracked me.
And, I change my mind a lot. More than the woman person, I think.
Nobody eats at the table anyways...

what size and typ battery is that? is it the typ that fits turbo Jeff battery tray ?
Yes, it's a TurboJeff battery tray. The size is 51r, a common Honda battery size. All the feedback I have about switching to something smaller involves a batter tender. The 51r one has never let me down, even after sitting for a good long time with the alarm on.

It's old batteries that leak, mostly. If you mind them well, I don't think it will be a continuing issue if you just want to replace and maintain. I'm not aware of any full size replacements that are dry or gel (though I'm sure they're out there). The stock size is 35 class, if you wanna look around. Not sure what the exact code is. It should be on the battery somewhere. Those fancy batteries get expensive quickly. The stock intercooler duct may also shove some moisture in the battery box during wet driving, which probably doesn't help with corrosion.
You might want to PM TurboJeff and see if he has any extra battery trays. The fitment is very nice.
Otherwise Elite Rotary makes a smaller battery box for the PC680, IIRC. Braille doesn't list their batteries with common sizes, but you might be able to squeeze more power into the smaller format with a braille or similar by checking the measurements. They expensive, tho.

Thanks for the offer. I sold a koyo to pick up this Ron Davis unit. Although I'm having urges to buy the ARC radiator and have that instead....OCD problems.

Also working on "upgrading"/replacing the FD fans and motors with RX8 S2 units. Just need to wrap up the wiring and get them swapped in.
Saw a sweet old Ferrari, too. Seemed like the real deal, and no reason to doubt it around here. Now, how to get that much moneys....

The Ron Davis is hard to argue with, but the ARC has internal fins or "micro tubes" as they call them. And, it's slightly thicker with nice quality.

Here are some threads about it. The AST basically bypasses the radiator, so the restrictor in the stock AST is assumed to limit this bypassing.

Always wise to develop a positive relationship with your preferred shop and trusted mechanic. RP are good people. That's basically why I didn't go with Koyo. I like my guy Rick, he shoots me straight and does a great job. I follow RP, and I'd trust them too if I were in their region.
I'll teach y'all a trick. If you go to google and type in "site:www.rx7club.com" and then put your search terms after that, it works better than the forum search

That's a nice radiator and the RX8 fan upgrade makes me wish I did that with my build. My fans aren't bad but they are just starting to rust. Looks like something I will put on the long list to do at some point.
Messing around with de-pinning and swapping the connectors of my donor rx7 fan motors and the new rx8 fan motors. Wanna wrap this up before dropping in the new radiator, and using the stall time to debate about the ARC rad. A few thoughts:
1. The new connectors are nicer (and easier to de-pin). If you're not into being super stock/reversible, I would consider trying to swap rx8 connectors onto the rx7 harness. I'd, personally, like to leave my stock harness stock.
2. De-pinning the old connectors is a pain in the butt, especially if you've never done it before. I never have. Almost made me wish I had cut and crimped.
3. For the FD clip. After you get the yellow clip off the back, there's a plastic pin holding the spade in place, and there's just enough room beside it to pry it up with a safety pin. Then you can use a small slotted screwdriver to force the old spades out the back. After you get one out the rest are less of a mystery. It helps free up the wires to cut the wire cover behind the plug.
4. For the RX8 clip. Pry out the rubber seal. Pry our the orange cover, with an angle pick or similar. The clips holding the spades are more visible, and easier to work with. There's no wire clip on the back and the wires are more supple, so you can pull them out the back pretty easy.
5. Need to find a source for the FD-style spades to crimp onto the new motors.
6. Need to get some new, non-rusty bolts for the new motors, and probably some loctite for the fan nuts.
7. There's a washer under the FD fan blades. It doesn't seem to go there on the RX8 fans, so I put it on top of the new blades under the fan nut. Will revisit before buttoning everything up.
8. The wires match colors, and that's the common guidance for re-wiring, so just gonna go with that. It might switch which fan speed turns on when, but as long as they all turn on...
9. I only did one of each, so I can take pictures and remember which colors go where on the connector.
10. Saw more cool cars: an amphicar with valid boat registration(never even seen one IRL, pretty sure), and a nice blue bugeye.
I think this is mostly an aesthetic upgrade. The Rx8 fans may be slower, lighter, less amps, and with better fan blades to compensate. But, I got a nice new IC crossbar from Jim Ellis Mazda online, and I'd like non-rusty motors.
If they end up causing any trouble or not satisfying, I'll buy new FD motors, which are way more expensive as listed, if they're actually not NLA. Sometimes JEM lists parts you can't have, that tease.
I guess I'll have 2x both FD fan blades lying around, some non-molested FD motors, and an extra shroud.
You are doing good work. For all the effort and if you wanted to keep it stock reverseable a little easier you could have skipped the depinning and made yourself an adapter harness. Just a thought.

Thanks, that's a good idea. Been having trouble finding a source for the electrical parts. Open to help, if anyone knows where to get the stuff (or what to call it).
Picked up a bunch of s6 style spades from there(already have the spare connectors from the donor motors, but don't wanna re-use the spades), so hopefully I can crimp them on and swap the connectors. Looks promising.

Yeah, they seem cool. I placed a small order with them too, cause I hand't heard back from CT. But, then noticed the order minimum is $20(or maybe $10, confusing). Anyways, CT notified my they shipped my package of connectors and lances. Really hope it works out. Now I need a special crimper :/. Might have a gang of extra pieces if the Eastern Beaver order ships too. If everything looks legit I'll try to get those rx8 connectors too and make a jumper harness. The saga continues!
