I have been getting a lot of free parts thank you guys so much
There's so much sympathy going on over here. This is not an easy task but you just have to dream and be consistent about it. I already anticipated a 3 to 4 year wait

I might just do some body work since that takes time will see...

My car might not be the best but it will run i guarantee

i love the determination, but hope you plan to keep the car forever. disclosing this restoration would drop the value like a rock. this isn't just a rebuilt title, this is a "from the ashes" title.

bzebern 09-07-15 11:12 AM

this is a challenge for me on how i will transform this car to be descent not perfect

but we just have to wait and see the light at the end of the tunnel

even me i dont even know when im going to give up but at least i tried my best

that spray paint primer is just temporary i still need to sandblast and stitch weld the

chassis

do you really think this is the worst car ever been restored?
probably for someone who doesnt want to get their hands dirty or have no time work on it

but theres always a buyer for everything

RotaryEvolution 09-07-15 11:22 AM

ive seen worse restored and sorry to tell ya but this isn't proper. a proper restore involves stripping all the rust off with media or acid, restitching the welds and reinforcing the rotted areas and then treating the bare metal properly.

the way you are going about it, the car would turn to a pile of rust as soon as it left the western states.

do i think it could be restored? yes, i've seen cars from the 40's that were balls of rust turned into immaculate restorations, however those cars had been treated as above and took months to just rehab the body and frame at professional shops for 10's of thousands of dollars. do i think an FD is worthy of that kind of attention? while it certainly is an awesome car it isn't worth that amount of work unless you intend to keep it for a long while before attempting to make a fraction of your money back. doing the work yourself certainly cuts the budget by ALOT but only if you do it the right way.

if i was looking to buy this car and someone pointed me to this thread and i paid anywhere near blue book i'd be on the fence for filing a lawsuit. i've already seen FDs come into my shop that had half a front FD welded to the back of another FD. sure it looked ok until you really looked hard at it and knew where to look, that car immediately became worthless to sell. so unfortunately if you're building this for a means to sell it... mmmm yeah.

that's a long haul car, just enjoy it and the hobby of building it.

Hey man, good work on this project!
Its obviously a labour of love. I really respect you making do with what you have.
I have no doubt you will get her into a condition to be proud of. By all means, you should already be proud of what you have achieved!
Keep it up pal

Can you take a look at my EX's face and see if you can "resurrect it"?
(like your car,it wasn't anything to look at but in the long run it may turn out ok..lol!)
