Got any pics of the brake ducts mounted in the front bumper?

She looks amazing...

Rocketeerbandit 12-06-15 08:25 AM

I don't but they fit perfectly with all the other OEM parts that I purchased like the bumper bar and the engine cover underneath.

The next direction that I'm going with the car is replacing worm clamps with t bolts, replacing silicone hoses," I and deteoring from the metal pipes because it retains so much heat", replacing the stock plastic throttle elbow with a Greddy, and possible a stock location intercooler.

I would upgrade the Intercooler and Radiator. Do you have a PFC? I remember when my previous FD was all stock, the PFC was the best mod

Also personally I would relocate the battery to free up space and delete AST. I normally loathe MB paint but damn that new paint looks great. It's growing on me

And get a black interior

Len-Len 12-06-15 10:38 PM

I would love to have a nice, mostly stock fd like yours. Just such a beautiful site. :icon_tup:

Rocketeerbandit 12-07-15 05:50 AM

Id call it "OEM+" thanks Len-Len. I'm trying to keep it clean and simple without compromising the cars integrity.

@7_Rocket all those upgrades scare me. Not that they are expensive but because if I were to change all of your above, it wouldn't look close to stock in my engine bay. I know that I want to keep the battery in its stock location. Call me crazy?

The PFC is a must and I believe in having that. I'll keep the AST in its stock location. And for the upgraded intercooler you mentioned, it would be the stock size or just a tad bit bigger. Nothing more.

When Montego Blue looks right, it looks RIGHT :bubrub:

At the very least uprade that POS stock Intercooler ASAP! And you're in Florida as well.

Why keep the engine bay close to stock? I must have missed your post. Just looking for a fun car to whip around without things breaking? :egrin:

PS where in Florida? I frequent Fort lauderdale and Miami for family

Rocketeerbandit 12-07-15 05:20 PM

I am slowly coming around to upgrading the stock intercooler with the same size or slightly bigger. Right now I'm tracking down a potential leak but not certain. At this time with a make shift boost gauge just to check the psi... I'm running 6-5-6 and not sure why?

I have replaced every vacuum hose under the upper manifold, every solenoid, pre wg, Charge relief valves, replaced all worm clamps with t bolt clamps, plugged up the air pump hardline, plugged up the throttle body hard line, plugged up the upper manifold hard nipple on top.

@Goodfellas, your car is an inspiration to keep my car clean and simple.

@7_rocket, i live south of cocoa beach area called Melbourne.

Another reason why I love the 93 Montego Blue, because of the two tone color combination with its interior.

Johnny Kommavongsa 01-11-16 06:36 PM

nice pics

Rocketeerbandit 01-11-16 07:32 PM

Thanks Johnny.

Today I replaced the Spark plugs, Wires, and oxygen sensor with all new oem.

I did get all 9's for the spark plugs and ripped out the magnecore wires and installed ngk tight fitted spark plug wires.

I also installed a new OEM O2 sensor because It hadn't been replaced since 93.

Pics of the spark plugs. Now I think these were new as of 01/13/15 from my records of receipts. which is no more then 13k miles in my documents.

I've driven that many miles last year and driven 19k miles since 09/01/14. I have done multiple autocross events since the last plugs were replaced. I also had ngk 7's and ngk 9's

I used Pettit Racings Premix which I've already switched over to Idemitsu's Premix.

I bet I know which ones came from the rear rotor.....

GoodfellaFD3S 01-15-16 06:34 AM

I like what you've got going on here..... making all the right decisions wrt plug wires and fluids IMO :D

What are your plans for shoes?

Rocketeerbandit 01-15-16 11:09 AM

Thanks Goodfellas, I'm changing the fluids for the third time with Neo Synthetic next week. As for the wheels, The lady likes 5 spoke wheels. I'm warming her to the idea of a 6 spoke wheel but anything more is out of the question. She loves works wheels but I'm showing her other company's that make beautiful wheels. Our price range will be anywhere between 2k-4K right now.

I'm having throttle issues, bucking at low Rpms with a steady speed, sometimes rowing at times.
Also the car at a stop light when it turns green and I start going, it stumbles really hard. Not all the time but it's everyday once or twice daily driving.
