that's really any car you're modding. especially if you're building it to be fast AND reliable. can't be a cheap *** and expect it to last too long.

$50 for a genuine bride seat? that's an insane pick up. lol.

how much did you get the '99 bumper for? looks like you're making great progress.

Sending off the car to Garage Life To get the motor and Vmount installed. Hopefully we can get the car ready for the tracks by 7stock!

Haven't had time to update much... 40+ hours of school and work is ALOT... But the good news is that the motor is finally in the car. Started the V mount setup but the radiator is at the welder getting some few things welded shut. So DK started putting the dual oil cooler together. Possibly another week or so the car should up and running.

Sorry havent really had time to update.. Just finish my finals and I should be able to take the car out the shop this weekend too.
Here's a picture of dual oil cooler and the Vmount setup.

Here is how everything sits right now. Just need a few more things done. And I should be able to get it out of the shop... hopefully by the end of this week.

After only driving the car for a month... the Engine overheated and cracked center housing... Luckily enough garagelife took care of it. Got new seals and replace the center. So the 7 has a fresh start again. Also threw out my old and crisp engine harness and replaced that we a rebuilt single turbo harness I bought from a member here. Dropped everything in and fired it up... then while checking for leaks... we notice that the AST we leaking from the welds... (probably what caused it to overheat) Found a guy to help patch up the AST and also help me weld my BOV to the intercooler pipe. Installed everything back. Took the car for a test drive... It felt ALOT better then before! Hopefully next week i can take the car to get some body work done.

Didn't actually get some bodywork done.. But a few friends and I register with ExtremeSpeed to track our cars. Been trying to source some parts to get ready for the track. So far I went down to SD to pick up a set Hankook Rs3 tires for fairly cheap. Hopefully tomorrow I can find some decent brake pads ( since its starting to squeak).

Buttonwillow.
My first time tracking. I got to learn the limits of my car and myself. Other then my ignition coils failing on my at the end of day.... I had a great time! People at the track we're really nice and helpful. Reminder for the next track event;
- CANOPY
-FOOD & LOTS of WATER
- Fix my car issues.... ( Ducting for cooling, Relocated my coils... Bump Steers)

Even though I didnt get the time I expected... I'll take this experience and correct everything I need for next time.

Finally had to to see what happened to my ignition coils. And this is it…. The car ran so hot that the T2 Coils pretty much pooped the inner stuff out of the coil itself…

wow crazy. that same thing actually happened on my FC vert several years ago. very thick, very bad smelling smoke poured out of the engine bay and i thought "okay i admit it's been too long since i've had an engine fire, but OH GOD"

Hot damn! We're you running those in the stock location?

Edit: I see you were. Look at my build thread for a cheap relocation of the coils. It'll cost you about two hours of your time and $20 or less. Fc plug wires not included.

HAHAHA i was waiting for someone to say that. The coolers that I had around mounts on them. Since it was there i didn't want to fab up a mount. So i just flipped them upside down. I mean like it works great. Hasn't been an issue yet...

YEUUUP... After this happened I've been researching how/where to relocate them to... I'll make sure to check out your build thread.

Swapped out the bad coil last night. Hoping that it would solve the misfiring issue.... But it didnt. Hopefully tonight after work&class I can find sometime to figure out whats going on.

Engine hasn't started at all, the car is still reading 1.2 boost when the car is just idling. Seems like the there is bad ground that is connected to the body harness that connects to the map senors. Going to try to swap out the PFC and to a Mircotech to hope that problem gets solved.

Meanwhile waiting for the Microtech to be delivered. Started to sanded and prep the car for paint. Literally stayed up all night to get majority of the sanding done. Should be able to paint tonight.

Less then 48hrs away from Mazfest... Hopefully I can get everything finished...
