Are my eyes deciving me, or is that housing missing a big *** chunk of aluminum? Oh, and btw, who is the girl with the great ***? ;-). Lookin good so far, good luck with the engine rebuild, i personally wouldn't tempt fate with that much aluminum missing off of the housing.

Meh, nobody uses that part of housing anyway.

But what is all the white stuff? Was that block in a fire?

No, none of the housing is missing. It is just the pictures. I am assuming that the white stuff is coolant. I didn't have that much time to diagnosis it... I had to run some injectors to the post office to ship out.

Yeah it sure does look like burned off coolant that leaked from the block-throttle body hose.

Gotta change those hoses.

yeah, I'm ordering the hoses from Malloy along with a bunch of other stuff on monday. I'm going to take a closer look at it tomorrow when I have a couple of hours to tinker around to see where it is actually coming from.

On a side note, I know on the stock injectors the best o-rings to use are the OEM ones. However, I just picked up a set of used 1600cc's that I'm about to send off to RC Engineering to clean. Should I use their o-rings or is there another type that would be better? thanks.

ah, now i see it, originally it looked like the aluminum was bare and shiney, like it had been broken/worn/melted off.

yeah, you can say that again. I went and picked up some cleaners today to get rid of some of the grease/oil in the engine bay.

Haven't had much time to update anything in a while. Here are a few pictures of a few pieces that will make the engine bay look a little better. These pieces came from various sources. I pulled the AC and Power Steering. I looped the lines on the Power Steering. I think it will be suffcient for what I am doing. If not, I'll just convert the rack. I went through all the electronic's on the car. Pulled out 2 alarms, an automatic car starter, a bunch of other junk, and a hook up for a 6 disc changer from who knows when. I think I'm going to go with a double din head unit with the navigation. I am also currently doing a battery relocation. More to follow in the next couple of weeks...

Well, the engine has been put back together for a while... I'll have more pictures of it in a week or so... I can't right now due to this...

well, here are a couple of more pictures. The car should be completely back together and wetsanded by next weekend. I'll have alot of pictures by then. Right now, there are alot of dust in the engine bay that I will be cleaning up. In the meantime. Here it is... missing the rear hatch and sunroof, just set the signal light and headlight cover on for the picture, also just proped up the 99spec lip and carbon fiber sides with boxes:

And here is the engine bay, I still have to polish the turbo:

I didn't want to wait at the time and I couldn't find anyone wanting to sell one on the forum. Nothing against the forum vendors, but the ones I would have ordered them from still do not have them in stock. I have the authentic 99spec undertray, and am in the works for the oil cooler duct and reinforcement bar... eventually I might get an authentic 99spec, but it will be a ways down the road.

Can't wait to see it when it's finished. You might want to paint the lip and sideskirts though, lol jk.

Car came out great for the most part. Decided to put a little more clear on it so it should be finished next week, but I went ahead and did a little mock up of everything. Also, the turbo kit I bought didn't have the Turbo to Downpipe gasket with it and I have had one hell of a time finding one. I couldn't tell you the amount of places I have called trying to locate one. I had given up and was just going to have to cut one myself when I came across a cylone/typhoon turbo to downpipe gasket that looked like it was a dead ringer. Lucky for me it was... small victories!!! haha.

Looks great! But blow some air around in that engine bay and get rid of that dust!
