I really like the teaser pic, but the wheels just gotta go. Wheels make it look like a show car from F&F. Go w/something more sporty like Rays or the newer Advans!

SENZA PARI 05-08-10 06:12 PM

A few shots of the diffuser now in place. Extends to the centerline of the rear wheel, where it will tie into the undertray. The wider rear fenders will tie into the sides nicely, so the diffuser wont be as pronounced as it appears to be. The rear deck lid wing element (not yet shown) will also balance it out vertically.

I haven't said anything derogatory in quite some time, sir. That diffuser is pretty tempting though.

widebodyseven 05-09-10 11:53 PM

I thought this was a street car?LoL

This is correct, Barban has been nice lately. I am however a bit disappointed to see only a period (.) given your previous posts.

Fortune_Seven 05-10-10 12:31 AM

Very cool project, can't wait to see your aero!

I'll say it then. What the fuck man? You had a chance of not making this look completely ridiculous but if you install that diffusor looking like that, it's game over on looking good. And the EXHAUST!!! are you kidding me? Even from a top speed standpoint which is what you say it's for, that will hinder you. Go do some research about motorcycle exhausts and their exit path and see how big a difference it makes that the exhaust exit stream is in the rearward airflow path.

Nice Build. I love everything about it. Im quite the opposite on what Barban had to say about your project. Y would you have anything negative to say about someone else's project car? I just don't get it. If anything it should be encouragement. Maybe some don't want to look like every other rx7 on the street. It's nice to see someone doing a build like this. It should look downright fast and mean when you are done with it, I'm sure.

bajebus. this shit is BANANAS. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

A few pics from the past year.... These do not tell nor show the whole story. They are merely a few shots of what has been going on. The bodywork and diffuser have been trimmed up and modified quite a bit since these pics... these only show the raw state, so obviously it looks a bit crude. If all goes well this should be finished up sometime this summer. Fiberglass in a huge PITA.

Shorn... no body work

One side with rear fenders, one without. The exhaust will not protrude as it does here.

New front end. 9" longer, improved aro. Ducts and headlights not yet in place. Intercooler has been replaced.

Rear fenders, 8.5" wider in the rear.

Rear quarter shot, new fenders untrimmed. Cage installed, vents etc. not yet in place.

WoW, crazy build. Not my cup of tea but very unique indeed, more power to you.:icon_tup:

thisiscainyo 02-28-11 06:44 PM

cant wait to see this finished

Narfle 02-28-11 08:57 PM

How are you supporting that bodywork? How thick is the glass?

Glass is between .125" and 0.25" depending on the area. All seams are supported by original bodywork (door sills, hood perimieter etc.), aluminum bracing, or tied into the floor pan. As soon as it warms up a bit we can finish this crap up.

rotoryfan1991 03-02-11 10:16 AM

Crazy build man. So is this going to be a street car or pure track car?

to_slow 03-02-11 10:49 AM

WoW that fu...ing cool.....

SENZA PARI 03-02-11 12:59 PM

Thanks guys. This will see a little bit of both... It will be street driven on the weekends here and there, However the plan for the car is to compete in the Texas Mile, hence all the attention given to aero, as well as the power.

Jimbo II 03-03-11 12:06 AM

Weapons grade shit mate! Get some new wheels and go thrash it on the track!!!

Ha, very true. It is a bit heavier but not as bad as you might think. It is pretty encouraging to be able to coast along at 50 and crank the wheel back and forth as fast as possible and have zero loss of traction.

Yeah, It seems like with glass out that far you'd have to have stingers and bracing under there somewhere. Especially approaching the fenders. Interested to see it wrap up.

SENZA PARI 03-03-11 10:15 PM

A few pics of the new turbo manifold. This will position the turbo for much shorter/gradual IC piping.
