RD2 end with little drama
Due to none function of my diff cooler pump and high heat of 4.777 final drive
The lsd become 100% lock at off throttle
Make it a perfect drift car............ I have to change my driving style, like use. Steady throttle instead off, because with steady throttle the lsd seen to lock less

Still mange to finish the race and get a class 3 ~

Nice!

Can you tell a difference in the engine with lighten FC rotors and Rx8 eShaft?

We are still here lurking.

I know for myself I just watch what you are doing now and think "nothing I can contribute".

But yeah, I should be cheering loud!

Its awesome to see the passion the FD and its rotary engine evokes in owners displayed on the track. Thank you for representing!!!

I am a big time lurker in this thread.

You pretty much have the only FD that races wheel to wheel on the build threads.

Good work out there!

Yea man. Keep at it. Car looks and sounds great.

How many events and how much money do you think you spend on racing a month?

Thanks Gilgamesh, another lurker on surface now~ 😁

Every since I watch my first Best motoring and hot version at mid 90s I know this is only want to do, be able to drive and mod FR car on limit@~
And this is my complete race summary of my FD, that I should do the thread on my project !!!

Thanks johnny

It depend, there is about two club host race event, one sprint race (8lap) one mini endurance(50min)
I don't like club host sprint race, that I think they allow too many car in event, and mostly of entry car too slow.....
The endurace race have 3 event per year
I typical to do 2-4 pre race testing per year
Since we have only one race track in my cpuntry, so I am pretty familiar with track
I typicaly can figure if my car setting is doing right or wrong in few lap with logger

it seems tire rule is pretty open in your series, so what's the consensus of the fastest tire to use?

Fastest was alway been Michelin , but lately a lot of car is,switch to Pirelli
The,problem of this two tire is, they dont last very long at storage and have short heatcycle
People report those two tire is 1sec + faster then Advan, but I seen them use
New tire every day.........

I my self been use advan all the time
Not fastest but pretty conistant until
My Last 300/650/18 set which did not perform remote close to target and have bad tire separate

These are non-DOT circuit tires.
The shortest of any of the wide tires are 650mm (25.5" tall) and most are 680 (26.7" tall) which combined with the low ride height of the race cars is why they cut the unibody up and extend the hood/fender upward on the FD race cars.

https://michelinmotorsport.com/Tyres/Circuit

In the US for autocross the most common bias ply slicks used seem to be the Avons if you are looking for a supply chain to try non DOT slicks out.

which pirelli? the DH or DM ?
how do these proper race slicks compare to a sticky dot rcomp like hoosier A7?

some people say the A7 is same or faster than top tier race slicks, is this true? (i'm referring to the race slicks you can buy lol, not the special manufacture only slicks)

On my last race 2 race in one weekend
First race I was using new RE11S-H(track day tire)
But is old stock, my fastest lap is about 1:54

Sec race I use new Advan A005 slick M
My lap time is 1:47

I think the RE11S-H even is unused, is still too old

Back to ur question on A7
Is depend on size, when u running extremely. Wide slick course In small- medium track
Some time our home build aero won't. Create enough heat into tire at 1-2 Lap at qualify ( this happens when I am using 300/650/18 A005 slick)
Thus using A7 could be better option with traction right out of pitbox

based on the times you are seeing out there, do you think Hoosier A7 is faster or slower than A005 M? assuming A005 can warm up (they do sell a A005 soft too)
My research seem to indicate the A7 would be faster than even A005 S, for time trial only.
which seems incredible to me because A005 should be proper slick, and A7 is still a DOT r compound.

would you be able to take some picture of the dry break fueling setup?

I need to add a dry break to my FD for easier fueling, we are considering the location of B pillar, stock filler location, and behind the trunk like yours.
but it seems to mount it behind the trunk, we wouldn't be able to get enough hose angle to make sure the fuel always flow down.
would love to see how yours is setuped.

did they actually angle the drybreak coupler upwards to get better angel to the filler?

Here u go

It depend on ur set up , my location is twin dry brake , one fill fuel one draw air , which is very fast, u can put this set up in piller too but is more metal then my location
The problem of my location is, it will get quite dusty and dirty
