Ah my bad, but regardless, one less FD is still a shame.

I wonder how much the insurance buy back is gonna cost?

I'd weld in a new front end or pull the bent one out. Hood and all the body pieces aren't cheap though. Then the full respray cause you'll never get that red to match proper.

As it is an RHD insurance company might be less accommodating on replacement value.

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-gen-gene...109290/page19/

This thread has a bunch of comparables of what a replacement from Japan might cost.

You can also find the recent RHD sales on BAT, for comparison purposes.

In any event, as many of the parts for this car can be used on LHD cars, there is a floor to its value provided by what it would sell as a parts car.

Damn... I'd pay 17 for it, but I can hardly afford my own machine. I'm just too poor for a real FD I suppose.

Any plans for a replacement?

Well, youre given a rare opportunity here. If you get a good insurance payout, take the car from something youre **** about and wanting to keep stock, to modify and enjoy. I have an fd that was in a slightly worse, similar accident than this. Its a tube front end from the front of the shock towers and youd never know without popping the hood. Do a color change, body kit, or whatever you want to do w it now; while hopefully enjoying the insurance payout.

Hopefully this car a least gets to the part-out market. Shame to hear if it gets crushed as is.

I would have bought it back but the $17k they wanted was too much plus them fixing it
