My first rotary resurrection.
I think I'm far enough in the build to post a build thread. Here's my story so far.
Background:
My love for rx7s started when I was 15 (9 years ago) , I got a ride in a red turbo II swapped FC with an aggressive street port and welded rear end that I won't ever forget. Jello legs when I got out. Went from a 70 datsun 240z to a 2007 yamaha r6 streetbike, now I'm rockin an FD, dream come true.. On to the car story.
It took the past 4 years of bugging the owner to get this car. SHE (gasp!) bought it in 05 from someone and registered it non op in 07 due to it not making boost (massive boost leak is my guess at this time) it sat in a driveway for 7 years before I saved it.
The good
100k miles, supposedly rebuilt right before she got the car and parked it.
Apexi intake, HKS downpipe, apexi exhaust, HKS turbo timer, defi link system, tein s techs.
The bad
Hasn't run in 7 years, BLOWN clearcoat. Massive bondo cracking on driver door. That's it on preliminary inspection.
She's a good friend.. Got this car for 6k
Here she is as she sat when I picked her up.
Put her on the trailer and brought her home.
Work started with the fuel tank.
Just a little bit of fuel left for almost a decade. No worrys.
Fix it up with a walbro I got off craigslist from possibly the coolest CL guy I've ever met. Cheers man.

Fuel tanks all clean and pump reinstalled...
Time to see why I have no break pedal. Start by rebuilding my calipers and adding a splash of instant horsepower
Turns out I needed a new abs pump... Got it from this forum. Super score.
Prepped motor for pull and rebuild... Can't use the garage yet, gotta get a BMW with a rebuilt motor out of the way first so il start on bodywork
Let's see about that door
No photos but it's scrap... Too much bondo for me to want to fix... Picked up a new one from the forum and stripped it. Much better
Still waiting on the garage so il start prep on the rest of the car
This could be a can of worms
Here's how she sits today

Update!
All doors, hood, bumpers, mirrors, vents and sunroof are ready for final block sand.
Motor is pulled bay was stripped and painted
Hood and hatch undersides painted, body prepped for 2k.
Had an issue with the AC line to the evaporator, it was crossthreaded. Sent out to coldhose and they fixed me up.
Got my ebrake handle and shift boot recovered in alcantera to match the steering wheel.
