For future reference the sound deadening material comes off much easier when frozen. Get yourself some dry ice, cake it on there let it freeze, whack it with a hammer and it will just crumble off. Then all you have to do is vacuum it up.

K so here is a update... I'm just working on little things while I work on the wiring, and saving up for the haltech... Here are some pic's of progress...

Painting calipers...

Sanded down the mazda (Idea i found on the forum thanks)

Looks like a mess, but i know what im doing... I think...

I lowered it back down, Don't know if you can tell but I think it looks alot better... Sadly even though it doesn't run yet I pull it to a wash rack and wash it with my soap and dry it with a shammy... gotta love the car for that...

Build looks good man. Looks like a lot of fun....and frustration. But I have that same ranger. 2000 white 4L v6 with the 4.10 rear end. That truck can pull. Keep up the work!

Ok so here is what im working on now...

I'm pretty much rewiring the entire car... I've had some issues before, plus everything will be alot more simple...

Every different section will have its own color, and wired separately... Lights in black, Fuel in orange, ignition in blue, battery alt and starter in red... ect...

They will all be wrapped separately also instead of everything in one bunch so if i do run into a problem i can find it easy and fix it.

My tiny work station... Making what I have work for now...

Ok so here is what the new harness and fuse box for the alternator and starter cables looks like... The battery will be where the rear bins would be, with all the other stuff in the passenger side... Hopefully I'll have some of it in soon and I can take pictures of some of it together... Im hoping to pick up my wiring harness for the ps1k friday and that will give me a better picture of what I'm looking at.... All advice welcome at this point, I don't know what I'm doing really but I'm learning as I go... And alot of thread searching...

Ok so here is what i've been working on between work and the girlfriend...

You already kinda saw this harness... The red is for power, charging and starting...

This is the cooling fan relays... All the cooling system is done in green...

This is going to the ignition switch and the combo switch for the lights.
It was a royal pain in my *** to do this... I ran all new wires, and made everything work the way its supposed too.. Plus i wired in the lights for towing...

This is kinda an idea of what it will look like... I still have to clean it up some more. I'm going to hook up the bat and see if everything works tomorrow,.. so cross your fingers...

^That is something I will have to do to my car one day, but I plan on doing the whole car with a painless wiring kit.
