Made some more progress on the rewire. Got almost all of the engine harness wrapped in dr-25.

I will be using a Blue Sea Systems fuse box and negative bus located in the old cruise control location.

I second this! I've found myself doing more on this car than I ever figured I would. I guess being able to do it yourself or at least learning to is half the battle.

Great work!

For me thats most of the fun. I don't even see how you can enjoy the full potential of a built RX7. I understand tracking it, but I prefer to go drive a race kart over a tin top on a track. Primarily the joy is the sense of accomplishment of doing something yourself. I am having way more fun building the car this time around. I am taking my time to learn something new, pulling things apart if I think they can be re-done better.

Anyways here is the latest skill to be learned from Instagram... Service loops on the wiring harness.

And Engine Harness finished and secured. Only thing left to do is add a few labels since I ran out of ribbon tape with 2 wires to go.

Thanks. It just took months of procrastinating and starring at the thing to come up with an efficient route. I'm glad it turned out the way it did though.

Mini update,
Christmas vacation, a flood and a wedding got squeezed in front of the RX7. All part of being married I guess. Got a pretty good stash of gift cards and cash for Christmas that was to be applied to the project, will likely end up going towards a crib and diapers instead. With a baby on the way I need to have the rx7 done before time is spent changing diapers, I should be on track.

Yesterday my friend Gabe and I made a plan to do the body harness from scratch. I had the wire tuck close to complete, but he figured a new configuration with minimal weight and a few goodies from his work is the way to go.
I also got the downpipe cut down a bi. The shop that originally made it stepped it down to match the factory cat. I had it on there while I was waiting for the resonator pipe so the could match it up. My friends at Fikse Wheels helped me out with a little bit of TIG action. I cut the proper angle on the SS straight pipe so it's back to get a flange. Lastly I cleaned up around the shop. We had a lot of old show home furniture stacked up that we have been slowly stealing or giving away. The remaining pieces is now in the trailer and really for a new home.

Hey everyone,
I thought it may be a good time to be back posting my build. It was glacially slow with my car being no where near where I live. I am now in a house with a garage and back in business when I put the kid and wife to bed.
In the last month I have sorted out a lot of the wiring in the car getting the body harness cleaned up and the relays and fuse panels moved over. I need to either make a aluminum panel box for the relays or more likely get a micro relay box from Hela, for now it is mounted to a very fashionable yellow modded karting number panel.

I did a bit of stereo work installed a new boost gauge and the AEM AFR gauge.

My friend Gabe came over this weekend to install a Compustar system he robbed from his shop for my birthday. The Compustar comes complete with turbo timer and auto start as well to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Name: D13E06B9-CDC2-435E-A4C4-0C1821C6552F_zpsadoq96gp.jpg
