Update: "With Focus on Bringing the Pro to Pro-Am"

Sorry for the mad Delay....Photobucket was doing some maintenance on their site and I was pretty much locked out of the site for the last 3 weeks. A total pain. Had to re do passwords etc and all as well.

But I'e been Busy prepping for this new season. I'll be doing a host of performance Upgrades to the Wolf this off season...not much in terms of Hardware..but I will be tackling the Chassis Wiring. Which I believe i've already said. Reason being...is I want the car to be as reliably set up and easy to work on as possible. I also want to showcase my abilities because at some point i'm going to be building another car. So if I can stay in the mindset of constantly evolving for the better...then I'll be up to the task when it comes to this next chassis.

Here's my current To Do List:

- Chassis Re Wire
- Pull Engine Refresh
- Convert AN-6 to AN-8 Crank Case Breathers
- Install Radium Dual Catch Cans
- Swap back to Borg Warner EFR8374D 1.05A/R
- Re-work Dash and Guage Set up
- Paint Interior Sheet Metal
- Refresh Brake System W/new Pads Fluid
- Re Cover all heat Damaged Lines with New PTP Turbo Heat Products
- Build Spare Diff so it's bolt in Ready
- Swap out my Single 4" straight Stainless Turn Down Exhaust for 4" inlet w/Dual 2.5" outlets to Quite up the car some. It's honestly just too loud.

So it was a pretty big decision on my end to pull the engine out. For me..it’s my goal to Never have the car down. And the worst feeling in the world is when I can’t just jump in the car and go drive. But with this year being THIS important to me… I needed to follow a Professional model to cancel out all of the potential issues that go along with racing. One of those things is not “Betting” on things lasting. Although I’ve had extremely solid engine’s ever since I met Abel. And I didn’t drive as much as I would have liked to this past year… This engine has seen about 7 Dyno Sessions….and about 8 track days. Not as much in comparison to the last set up. But with a lot of preventative precautions going on to Tidy up my Chariot… I figured the best and most certain way to insure the car is solid would be to pull the engine out and give her a once over. I hate it..but It has to be done! So out comes the Wolfs heart and me and Abel will be pulling her apart this afternoon.

Here she is with one of Abel’s Spare 1700WHP 20B RX8 Engines. Not that my block Measures up. But more than a few times..Abel has pointed at my keg and said…. “You’re a lucky son of a B**** , Because everything I learned with these engines is going into yours.” And I can’t say **** because I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.
Check it!

Also spent a good solid week and a half designing my rewire all on paper. I wanted to make sure I had all my bases covered and also set everything up to go along with my whole theme of setting things up as simple, reliable and easily maintained as possible. It’s definitely not the most expensive set up. But you don’t need expensive to be reliable. You just need solid components. Pick and choose what you’re going to spend the money on, and if I could give any advice, it would be to write out what you want on paper FIRST. The easiest way to waste money is to start buying things. Depending on what you want… you could even use the OEM Stock Fuse Boxes and relocate/delete or simplify things and rewire the car that way.
This might’ve been draft 4 of 20 Lol

Parts started coming in. I’m not sure if I’ll be using the NTK Wideband or going with the Innovate MTX-L Plus. I don’t necessarily like the Bosch 4.9 Sensor. So If I go with the Innovate…I’ll be swapping sensors to the 4.2.
Got this Sweet Master Battery Cut off Switch. It’s sole purpose is to kill the battery 100% while working on it. I’ll be mounting it closer to the battery.

Just a quick Template to get an idea of how much Space I’ll be working with when I lay it all out. My goal is to be able to have this fasten to the car with 4 Fasteners. Somewhere under the Dash..accessible…and easy to look at/reach…but under the dash.

You take the build thread to the next level. I'm still stuck on the v-mount set up. It takes me awhile to catch up. Awesome thread.

Dude! Crazy build thread! I started reading it last week some time, and haven't read anything since. Wow man, what a journey! You've come a long way and accomplished so much in just a few years. Quite the roller coaster of emotions too, reading the updates of your engine failures on the dyno was a real heartbreaker.

I love the lack of fear you have for tackling any new task, and determination to do it your way. I'll be the first to admit that I have no style, I see only function, so my stuff is always boring looking since I have no vision for it. I'm probably not the only one who raised an eyebrow the first time you posted pics of gold and pink paint, not in judgment, but more like "I dunno about this". In the end, it looked sick! Thought the same thing with the white intake, but then I found myself looking at my gloss black intake thinking "I'm so boring".

When you first mentioned Abel, I was like "oh ****, that's the guy who used to race that sick K&N car back in the NOPI days." Haha, I hope that doesn't make him feel old if he reads this.

Don't let negative people drag you down bro, life's too short. The level of support you've received at a relatively entry level of motor sports is fantastic! Stay positive always dude, keep the updates coming.

Thats enough of that, I sound like some fanboy, haha. It's just weird to read a build thread and feel like you known a guy for years.

I do have a few questions for you. Your lower intake manifold appears to be the same one listed on both cxracing and rotary works websites, although you didn't mention where you got it. I'd have to go back and see when you got it, maybe yours was one of the first ones. Besides the need to modify it to fit your p-port, are you happy with it? There's very little info on it, including injector info, did you have any trouble fitting the ID1700's? You mentioned running an oil line from the filter pedestal to the front cover to oil the eccentric shaft directly, or something to that effect, but you didn't post any pics. Is that one of abel's trade secrets that you can't share? If so, that's cool.

Well I better get back to the garage, hoping to have my 3+ year project on the road in a few months! It's not going to finish itself.

Cheers,
Adam

Thanks much man!! I try to shell out as much information as possible!! There are some trade secrets that It's really not my place to share..So I don't. But I do try and help people with the stuff that I figure out. It's just a bit discouraging sometimes when that same info has been thrown back in your face. Nothing necessarily recent that sparked that comment.. Just over-all. I've noticed that I'm much more reluctant to post things these days because I have to think about who it's going to **** off or how it's going to affect me and or people that I have had the pleasure of working with and genuinely like. But thanks for Sticking around!! I'll be back in here on the regular now that Photobucket is back up and running normally

Hey what up! Thanks for the support my man! One of the best parts of this whole experience is that I have full range of where I designate time. Meaning....I can put as much time as I want into whichever aspect I choose. So I choose to try my hardest to share my experiences along with everyone on this forum. I love this forum and it's where I started. Got a bunch of crap recently from a member telling me that no one gives a two ***** about this community or that.. But it struck a nerve with me because I actually do care about this forum. There's a reason I keep this build thread going. It's as much of a tool to help people out as it is for me to be able to get my thoughts straight and or even vent sometimes. Can't think of another way I'd really like to do this. I love writing..and I was inspired by build threads in my earlier years. I remember when I finally got a smart phone and could actually browse the forums from it haha. I was delivering pizza at the time and I'd spend an extra 5 min on each delivery reading what people were doing to their cars...or researching what I should do next...OR looking for parts in the classifieds The forums are great. I'm glad you're enjoying the build thread and hopefully it was worth your time! Thanks again for the support!!!

More Updates soon!

I hear ya Aaron. Some people have no respect for other people's time and quite sneeky looking for free help... I stopped helping people over the phone or via messenger. By the way, I got your text.. sorry I didn't respond. I'll message you over FB.

I hear that. I try my hardest to help people out. It just makes me wonder "why" when those same people are different behind your back. But it's all good. It's taken me a loooong time to realize that saying "I told you so, is only really worth it when geared to close friends and family.

When People say that they can rebuild an engine in a few hours...they're full of it. These are all my used parts. And this is how I've been taught how to Clean. It takes time to do this. This IS the correct way to rebuild an engine. Unless of course...you've got all new parts hah!

I'm not familiar with that particular cutoff switch, but there is a condition called an 'alternator load dump' that can happen if the alternator's output is disconnected from the battery quickly but the alternator is still connected to the rest of the car's electronics. This can result in the alternator sending over 50V to the car's electronics which can cause damage. If your cutoff switch has 4 lugs on the back, follow the instructions and you should be fine; one of the lugs is usually for the alternator. If your cutoff switch has only two lugs on the back, the alternator needs to connect to the same lug as the battery (and nowhere else), so it can't dump 50+V into the car's electronics when the cutoff switch disconnects. Let me know if that's not clear enough... I had trouble finding a nice simple example diagram in a quick google search, but could draw something up if needed.

Photo Dump Round 2: "Runnin up hill like it's down hill"

Insane Happenings guys!! Grindin harder than ever!!!

I'll let the pics do the talking!

If you're not following me in IG......HIT ME UP!!! My IG Username is: @Aaparkah

YOu may find a bit more frequent blips of my happenings. But I'll always still be here on the forum!

PICS!

Engine Building with Abel Ibarra! This was the first time Abel pretty much passed the Torch to me and said " Let me know when you get to the Rotors."

Funny enough...i didn't have any questions up until I got to that point. Easily the best mentorship I've ever had. Priceless in so many ways and topping the list is the friendship and Mentroship that Abel has shown towards me. I wouldn't call myself traditionally religious. But I am truly blessed and eternally grateful to have what I would consider something closer to family than anything else.

On to pics!

The Grind.... I will never be too tired. I will never second guess what needs to be done. I will never let myself down. Every chance you get to get one mm closer to your end goal .....is worth the effort. Work smarter they say.... work less they say.... I say work smarter and harder. When other people call it a night....I make up ground. This is my life... and it is all hustle. So I promise myself every night before I got to sleep.. That I won't stop until I am satisfied. I will end up getting my Formula Drift pro 2 license,....and I will end up getting my Pro 1 License. There is no question of if... It is only a matter of time. If I don't get it this year... Guess what?...I'll be on it next year. Cant stop the train. Just gotta ride it out.

This is one of the best parts.... Getting to watch first hand the process of Abel's tuning. People truly don't understand what this guy is capable of. He is what I would whole heartedly say one of the best if not the best rotary tuner on the planet. Not just because of what I've seen him do on my car. But on others. He is Very meticulous. no cut corners.

Burned 2 Transmissions at round 1. Number one went on the first day. Swapped it that night to another for practice and Comp the next day. Got one lap with the new one and synchro's were toast in 2nd and 3rd. Was able to put up points...but missed top 16 by 8 Points. Weak. I'll get em next time.
