Kwpilot 93 FD Project

Since I am away from the car I thought this would be a good time to start documenting progress on my project. I purchased this 93 LHD RX-7 in May of 2020 and was the first car I have every bought site unseen. I know most are cringing at the idea of this but I had been looking for an FD for years and now seemed like the right time to purchase. I was attending a school in Alabama and overheard someone talking about rotaries during a meet and greet event. Immediately I was intrigued and got all the details over the next few months. I found out he had two FDs and was willing to part with both of them. Over time and a bunch of questions later we finally decided on a price. The car had been sitting for about two years with regular start ups in Texas. The owner lived in Hawaii so couldn't fully confirm the status of the car and only some of it's history. Due to money and space I could not purchase the second FD which had some minor front end damage. Looking back I regret this decision but it all worked out in the end. Since I am away quite frequently for long periods of time my wife took delivery of the car. To date I have had very little time to work on the car because of my job and it is currently at a shop for upgrades and tuning.

Parts added since ownership:
Concept 7 duckbill
99 spec tail lights
AEM wideband
OEM black carpet
OEM seats
Sparco Champion steering wheel
Silicone hose replacement
CF door sills
Sakebomb passenger foot rest
Brake pads
Pioneer DEH-X6800BS
PFC holder
I know there is more will update

Pictures I had prior to purchase:

In her new home:

First state of engine bay:

Single turbo setup, believe it is a knockoff TO4S with an HKS manifold:

Car had been sitting for a few years and I found a good deal on an OEM black carpet:

Great member on here sold me some refurbed seats and i couldn't be happier. Original car came with some CF NRGs that were much to wide for the car:

Old snow performance water/meth pump in passenger side bin. In the process of removing the whole system:

Slowly cleaning the engine bay, not sure if I am sold on the red:

Duckbill installed. I think I may go wing at a later point:

Much more to do and should have more time to work on the car due to me being relocated back at home. Thanks to all the members who have helped me in this journey so far.

Winter project was to learn how to vinyl wrap. My son picked out the color and even though it's not perfect I learned a lot and it passes the 10ft test. I know there are always mixed opinions about wrap but finding someone to paint this locally for a reasonable price is proving more difficult than I thought. Took it out to a show yesterday but sadly lost to a beautiful R33 GTR.
