My advice: Keep the black wheels.

I have had some people pushing to put black wheels on my car, and while I agree that it would probably look great... Black wheels are just not for me.

This is what I had originally wanted... This was the first picture of these wheels that I saw and I had decided I wanted that color. Unfortunately for whatever reason Weds did not end up offering it on the production wheel.

I have decided on a matte gunmetal grey color called "Anthracite". Here it is on another wheel:

Dennis.... LMAO. I have been pulling off truck heists at night, but with a gang of old Datsuns

We, also, understand that the color you are going for is totally sick but why don't you just try matte blacks for the first set of tires or something??? Black wheels on your ride will look soooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick................

Hey John please let us know when you're in the NE visiting a local track. I would love to join you on track for a couple of laps (of course in my own car). I have a buddy who has a race dedicated Porsche who is always up for some seat time and would be happy to show us the proper racing line.

I don't know how I missed this thread before. You've got a great looking car and a great choice in wheels. I love the blue that you have on it.

Nice choice on the SA-60Ms. I was *this* close to pulling the trigger on a set myself, but I didnt quite care for the machined grooves on the outside of the spoke.

As Scrub mentioned, I got the car started up and drove it this weekend for the first time since November. I headed down to DE to hang out with Scrub and give the car a good shake down. I had initially purchased a set of Pettit TrackPro Stage III coilovers however I ended up returning them due to fitment issues. While I would love a set of Zeal Function X or Ohlins DFV's I had to go with something more affordable for now and I had heard good things about Stance. I ended up getting a set of Stance GR+ coilovers from Rishie at AutoRND.

Some installed pics:

The Stance coilovers felt great. Rishie was able to get me 12 kg front and 10 kg rear spring rates. For the initial drive I set all four corners to 4 clicks from soft. The ride was very comfortable and with the new bushings everything felt very tight. Scrub has driven my car many times before so I let him take it into the backroads (which he knows like the back of his hand) so we can see how well the car was setup. HUGE improvement over the previous setup. I ended up bumping the dampers up to 8 clicks front and 6 clicks rear. That helped response without sacrificing much ride comport.

I also spent a while today working on my tune a bit. I previously had been running with a blocked off idle speed control and I reinstalled it so I had to tweak my idle some. I now have a rock solid 850 RPM idle and I was able to eliminate some annoying stumbles thanks to Arghx's many informative posts.

The last thing left to do is replace the front rotors with some blanks and order a set of Endless competition pads for track days as well as a couple bottles of Endless RF 650 brake fluid.

Thanks Gordon. The quality of the Stance coilovers is top notch and everything fit great. IMO they were a great bang for the buck. I cant wait to get them on the track to give them a full workout.

I was exactly the opposite. I was set on the TM-02's until I found the Weds. I guess we have similar taste in wheels

I am also not a huge fan of the grooves, but I will be powdercoating the wheel one solid color so I think it will look much better.

Thanks. The SuperPro's felt great and I did not notice any excessive noise. In fact, my car was so quiet able to use my iphone speaker as my only source of music since I tore out my amps and sub and had no music...

NJMP was great... When I went last I drove Thunderbolt. This year I would love to try out Lightening, that banked turn looks like alot of fun.

Good Choice with the rims. The Anthracite is the way to go.
Like the fender liners too. Hope to see it in person at DGRR

yeah it sure has, i remember you putting in all those hours to make the front bumper look just right. i have to hand it to you, you built me a great engine. i have been boosting 20 psi for at least a year and have recently turned up the boost to 24. engine is holding up with no problems!

also this thread does have a downside as it made me order some new parts for the car. ordered a set of bushngs for my car, should be here this week and hope to have them installed prior to DGRR.

What bushings did you end up getting? OEM Mazda pillowballs or a poly kit such as SuperPro? ...or both?

Either way you will be amazed at the improvement. It made such a HUGE difference in the ride quality of my car.

24 psi!? wow, thats impressive... You have the T51R now right? How much power were you making back at 20 psi?
