Little update: I got the car back from Auto Explosion and threw the wheels and tires on to see how they would fit.

And...

I love it.

I have a few more things to do on the motor and I'll be ready to throw it back in the car. Too bad I'll be out of town on business starting Sunday....and I won't be back until the second week of July.

how do you like the lithium ion battery on your craftsman impact? sorry to be off topic. I've got the same one and I know the battery that came with it isn't gonna last forever.

It's not bad! It lasts a relatively long time. If I get a year's worth of charges out of it before replacement, I won't be too upset.

Thanks! I know I didn't post anything of the rear fitment but I did use a 20mm spacer since I bought a square set of wheels for rotation purposes.

I'll be bringing the ride height down a little bit once the motor is back in. As long as I can maintain clearance and keep a track alignment reasonable, I'll try to get it down to 25 inches ground to fender all around. Maybe a little higher.

Engine looks bitching ! I like the coolant sensor threaded in the rear housing, what size thread / tap is that ? I'm surprised that no turbo manifold has braces to hold up the weight on the turbo flange, especially that DOC one with the turbo extended up to the front so much..

Kinda Big Update

Excuse the dumbed down explanations since I'm copying this over from my thread on non-rx7 forum.

I realized that the Daikin pressure plate was just an OEM replacement and would not hold the power I am shooting for. So I bought an ACT extreme pressure plate and threw it on.

My SakeBomb Garage AEM Smart Coil kit came in as well.

I installed the transmission, drive shaft and power plant frame to finish the powertrain portion of the rebuild and hung my Tanabe Medalion Touring muffler.

I then assembled all of my fluid hoses for my fuel system and turbo cooling/oiling. Yes I will be getting a turbo blanket and some heat shielding for my hoses.

Next, I finally got a chance to trade hoods with a friend of mine. He went with a different setup and will no longer need a drop vented hood...and I need a drop vented hood...so...BOOM. I love this style of hood!

So since I got the hood, I test fitted my custom Greddy V-mounted intercooler and it just wasn't going to work the way I wanted it to. So I will be sending the entire intercooler/radiator setup off to Jason over at Rx7store.net and he will be modifying it for me to fit my duct

I want the intercooler to sit flat (parallel to the ground) so I can utilize the duct to its fullest.

I need to pull my dashboard back out and replace it with the better condition dash I bought for pretty cheap...but...It's too damn hot where I live to be fighting with that thing in my garage. So that is being put on hold. lol

So I decided to paint my "new" core support instead, and start routing my front chassis wiring harness back in the stock locations.

Before (Notice the mess of wiring on the ground.)lol

After (still haven't done the harness yet here)

After paint and routing the harness, I buttoned up the motor as far as I could without the power steering pump and a few other things.

Thanks Nick! I didn't want to attract too much attention to things in the engine bay so I made sure not to have any of the red/blue fittings. The attention will still be there, but not as bad...I hope. lol

Thanks!

Another small update...

I'm finally done traveling for a while and I should have this beast running really soon. I removed a few things to have modified more to my liking and mounted up my oil coolers. I'll be building my hoses some time this week.
